Ridiculous, I do clean my shoes and dubbin them every now and then to keep the leather healthy but that's all, same as I used to do with the footy boots.
As for ironing, just :confused:
Par 4 last hole - club Texas Scramble - we had to take a "not so special" drive and have 200 or so left to the flag in the left rough, both team mates have basically duffed their attempts, mine is as a good a strike as I can recall with my hybrid to 6 feet. We holed out and took home the spoils...

If i had to pick a distance i would go for 95-100 yards as that is a full 52 for me, but the reality is that if i cant make it, i will take as much club as is safe and then play from there usually.
I won the club Christmas Texas Scramble last year in the only 3 ball against the rest of the field of fourballs, It was me and two Cat 4's and I (and probably the other two as well) played just about the best golf of my life and we finished 5 under par gross to win handsomely after handicap...
