Dunno about that, my course claims to have that bragging right.
Pride of place in the Royal Musselburgh is the Old Club Cup dating back to 1774, the oldest trophy still competitively played for in the world.
I've played a few courses in Edinburgh where Jacket, shirt & tie are required, a load of ********* if you ask me, it's golf ffs!Needless to say, I've never gone back to either course (Royal Burgess & Muirfield) when invited again.
The most likeable man who ever managed England imo.I would even go so far as to say I would have liked him to win it.Some praise from a polarised Scot!
Rest In Peace
Funny, I've always had the dream of doing something very similiar, not the living out the golf bag ( which adds a new and better angle to the story), but the hiking along the west coast playing the smallest, most rugged courses on offer.

There is nothing better in golf than judging wind speed and direction on a links golf course correctly and seeing the ball come in on the wind as expected, landing nicely and rolling to it's intended spot.

Anyone else enjoy the article about Askernish? Looks terrific but what a trek to get there!

Bollocks, 1st class bollocks though.England is indeed a proper country, as all the other places you mentioned.I reckon your the type of person who gives all the decent English a bad name with your little England attitude.
As for trying to get to Gleneagles, here's a suggestion, dinnae bother...
