This guy has been spending the summer playing 18 rounds of golf on 18 Scottish islands with his golf bag doubling as his suitcase and all his travel being done by ferries and buses.......superb stuff!!!

So far he has done 12 islands so far (1st stop Bute and Port Bannatyne G.C which is a lob wedge from my dear old late Grandfathers house), mostly the Hebrides. He is still to visit Orkney and Shetland....

Will be interesting to read his blog if he gets to play Whalsay Golf Club in Whalsay, just off the east coast of the Shetland Isles.
It's my Brothers track, the most northerly course in the UK.Great views along the clifftops, sheep on the greens, that strangely disappear when you reach the green. If your ball strays off the fairway it's really difficult to find amongst all the white fluffy stuff.
Thankfully, the weather was fine when I played there, obviously a completely different course in the wind!

Golfmmad.

Thats gowf in its purest form no manicured fairways there, looked at Askernish , Logan air do a day trip there it wasn't cheap tho.

Funny, I've always had the dream of doing something very similiar, not the living out the golf bag ( which adds a new and better angle to the story), but the hiking along the west coast playing the smallest, most rugged courses on offer.

Look forward to reading the book.
