.... and the guy who collects the balls in the little tractor goes out, to collect the balls. Do you:-
  1. Wait until he's out of range, not in the way before you take you next swing?
  2. Or see him as a moving target and try to hit him?
  3. Or as DeeJay has written below, continue as you were ignoring the fact he is there?
The question only came to mind as last night at the range; I waited until he was not in the way, he was way over on the right side of the range and I even purposely aimed left, you can see where this is going now I guess, but I duffed my swing, the ball sliced wildly right never getting more than 3 feet off the ground and it hit the tractor on the metal bit at the bottom of the windscreen before richocheting into the air. I mean if I'd tried on purpose to hit the tractor I would still there now without any success.

As long as he / she is well protected, swing on. Maybe purposefully aiming at the poor sod is a bit much. Unless there's a free sleeve of Pro V1's for the winner.

Seeing as I know the bloke/s who pic up the balls at the driving range, i normally try and aim some at them to scare the crap out of them! It's treated as a bit of a laugh really!

I would like to think I would have a pop at him but in reality I would wait. I am there to learn and work and I am very aware of how eaily I am distracted.

i use to pretend he wasn't there, until i hit him, he made a beeline in his buggy, told me off

now i wait

I like a moving target....

One range near here, the owner lets his dog out on the range to scare rabbits away - while Punters are still blasting away..

I stopped...

On the subject of wildlife, at the range I go to, there were two swans, with their cygnets and some of the less intelligent punters were trying to hit them, absolute morons.

Trust me... It is extremely frightening if you are hit by a ball when collecting, especially if you don't see it coming. It's amazing how many you see actually taking aim and trying to hit you, especially when you know most of the couldn't hit a fairway from the tee!

i dont know if any of you watched a program called monster garage but they made a ball collector that fired the balls back at the people on the range. i bet the guy on the tractor dose not care its happened that many times anyway

I'll be honest, I was up at parklands on Wednesday and I was one of those who carried on regardless. I was focussing too much on getting my driver way there could have been a bloke run across the park baring all and I still would have ignored him and played on. At the range you try and get into the zone and block all of the other hackers out of your mind so I guess it would be the same for most

I wait. Gives me time to get the tempo sorted, have a drink and think about my game. Its hard enough trying to hit is properly without ruining the work I've done playing silly buggers and hit a moving target
