Was thinking back today about Jason days awesome year and one thing that jumped out is his playing attitude. During all of the wins this year, the tv coverage only ever showed him smiling and laughing.

Big drive down the middle or big block into the wildlife, stiffed chip or duffel flop, he just always looked like he was enjoying every minute. When comparing to someone like Rory or Speith, they constantly self abuse after bad shots or those that haven't quite paid off.

So are you self amused or self abused?

Definitely self amused for me. Always have a smile on my face. To me every time i try to play is better than not playing at all.

Self amused - always enjoy myself on a golf course - it's all fun and enjoyment

A bad days golf is better than any day at work

Always play with a smile, a lot of time laughing at my PP's shots!! I don't currently play medals, only swing 2/3 times a month soI don't see the point getting worked up over a game.

My wife would tell you that I'm a grumpy old man, but on the course I'm normally happy to be out there. There are days when I hit every tree or land directly behind one when I can get a bit fed up but on those occasions I can still laugh about it.

I can swear like the best of birchys but it doesn't last long and won't drag anyone else down.

New hole, new chance.

I like to get into my bubble, block out my playing partners, concentrate 100 per cent on my own game, go through my prep shot routines etc. So no place for smiling, let alone having a laugh. Golf is a serious business and unfortunately I have played with the odd Forumer who doesn't treat it so.

Smiffy again :(

I'm not sure why, but I have found myself much more in the "amused" camp this year. I still have the odd moment of frustration but generally manage to take everything in my stride and laugh it off.

That is the 'Blackmoor effect' Difficult to play without a smile on your face.

Learned long ago that if I stopped enjoying myself then the game would suffer. Yes a bad shot normally results in a "what the F**k" but I try and put it behind me and try and remember how lucky I am to be out as a full member of a lovely course. No point in stewing over a bad shot, it will only transfer to the next one.

Most of the time I join in with everyone else and laugh at me. However, if its an horrendous round I might resort to a "for God's sake Bri." But after venting, I'm back to laughing at myself... no point being miserable.

normally its just what the hell was that you idiot.then its on with the game, bad shot forgotten .
cant be doing with grumpy feks on the course..as already stated by others ,i play for the enjoyment, its my hobby .
