This morning I was looking through my scores since I started playing and noticed it was a year ago today that I first broke 100. Casting my mind back it was one hell of a feeling. My playing partner was marking my card and hadn't told me how I was doing (at my request and something I still do now) and I didn't feel that it was a special round. I remember the last putt being down hill with a nasty break from about 8 ft and was chuffed when it dropped. To then be told that it had sealed a score of 99 led to what can only be described as an Irish jig around the green. A very happy day indeed. :D

My best round to date has been an 86 (par 70 course) so I'm looking to beat that this year!

Just wondered if you can remember the first time you broke 100 and how you felt, and if you haven't yet, how close you feel you are?

I only broke 100 last September so its still fresh in the memory, my partner was scoring but i knew i was having a good round but i told him not to tell me, he looked at me on the 16th tee and asked if i wanted to know, i couldn't stand the suspense so agreed, he told me i'd shot 82 so far, despite trembling arms and legs manged to finish with a 93. :)

I remember it very well. I had been trying for a couple of months and hit 102, 101 and even 100 several times.

A few attempts where I had a putt on the last to hit 99 and messed it up.

Went along one day and had a bad neck so was playing a bit tentiviely and ended up shooting 96 - I was amazed as I didnt feel it was going to be the day & had not even checked how things were going.

very nice feeling :D

Think it was around 2 years ago lost 3 balls and had 2 OB chipping and putting was a night mare and all my irons were coming up short hopefull it will never happen again i felf like giving up, think i broke 90 3 times last year which was very hard to take. My best round was 74 this time last year.

I'm at that point now where any round over 100 irks a bit but still isn't unheard of. Can't remember exactly when I broke 100 though.

I don't remember the first time I broke 100 or even 90. The first time I broke 80 however is very vivid in my mind. My first birdie and eagle are also firmly etched in my mind, mainly because the birdie was also my first chip in from off the green, and the eagle was holded out from 155 yds LOL

Yeah late last year too I had the goal of breaking 100 by January new goal is 90 next January. I new I had scored mid to high 40s on the front nine but kept playing my game on the back and only added up after the 17th. I thought at first I had blown it but then recounted and found I had 7 shots to play with on the last. Walked to the tee with such a great feeling of freedom I hit a great tee shot then a bad approach but a wonderful up and down for a par 4 and a 97. I still look at the scorecard and smile

I looked back and realised I 3 putted seven times so I will definitely break 90 soon :)

Don't remember when I first broke 100 but I remember my best round of 80 (on a par 67). I was on my own and playing the best golf of my life whe I caught up with a 3 ball and joined them, and somehow carried over the form to continue with them on the last 5 holes.

Also my first eagle, I had a course lesson on a 9 hole course and drove the tee shot onto the green but missed the eagle putt. My coach said he only ever made that green probably 2 in 10 times, then on the back 9 (it was a 9 hole course lesson) I drove it to the green again and had a 6ft putt for eagle. I did have a bit of a dance when it dropped.

My aim for 2011 is to get below an 18 handicap but will mainly be sored during the summer when my rugby season has finished.

Hasn't happened yet, but it is coming. Haven't had an eagle or a birdie yet since starting in September. I had several birdies and 2 eagles when I used to play as a junior many years ago, but not since I started back.

I remember when I first started playing, it feels like just yesterday but its been years now. I use to be terrible, it took me ages before I could break a hundred. If you saw me then you'd never think I'd make it to a competition but I've actually entered a pre-qualifier for the Trilby Tour at Donnington Grove. Really looking forward to it as it's a great course and should be a fun day. If anyone fancies joining here's a link to the website http://www.donnington-grove.com/pages/Enter-The-Trilby-Tour.html

Remember it well as it was just over two years ago,i was on the 18th at Ilfracombe and i was on 93,took 6 for a 99.About a couple of months later i was on the 16th on 75,took 5 10 5 for 95.Have shot 76 around there now.

I remember shooting 79 at my golf club with my biggest club a 7 iron!! It was the height of summer! Par 72. Had 40 on front 9 +5 (have done this plenty of times) then 39 on the back 9 +2 and had two putts lip out on the back. Never got close to breaking 40 on the back nine ever since. Usually just hit sub 50.

It's all about being in the under 80 club!!! One day when I learn to use woods I reckon I'll still struglle to shoot sub 80!

Since the 79 I've had 5 sub 90's. I have, however, had 29 on a pitch and putt (Abbey Hill par 3)

1974! Scored 97 including my first ever birdie. Remember it like it was yesterday, but funnily enough I can't remember anything I actually did yesterday.

I was lucky, I broke 100 in just a few months of play but strangely stayed in the high 90's for what seemed forever which is probably why whenever I had a slightly off day in recent years I found myself very easily shoot 90's. Maybe an in built return to a long standing habbit. :)
