Your Favourite school memories?

Absolutely none!

Absolute BS when people suggest that schooldays are the happiest days of your life.

Getting to school an hour early and staying an hour after to play footy everyday

Loved school trips, did 5 different foreign exchanges over Europe, think it is still the school record :)

Going out with a year 11 girl when I was in year 9, got a lot of respect for that one

Those days beat real life being a grown up.

oh Amanda do find a minute to tell us more 😁👍

Ha ha - where to start. Well we wanted to see if the fire extinguisher at my house (Dad at work) would propel us on a skateboard. It kind of did but made a bit of a mess. Another day my Dad came home unexpectedly and we were smoking so hid them behind the curtains and tried to make up a story about why we were there...curtains caught fire. I so recall the days when my Dad came home from work and said "Where were you today Amanda-Jane?" (knew I was in for it when he used my full name!) "school Dad"..."not according to Mr Winterburn" (truant officer)!

I was a smart kid lost in a rubbish comprehensive school so used my brain to become the naughty one. Even had the headmistress dragged into my French lesson as I point blank refused to go to her office for another telling off...

Not really BS tho is it?
Just because you didn't enjoy it.

I didn't enjoy learning, but loved mucking about with my mates.

If I could go back I'd definitely try harder, but looking back it was a good laugh.

Head of year thought it would be funny to have a practice fire drill in winter with a foot of snow on the floor. It was blowing a gale and not one kid was happy. Until a big gust of wind blew his snorkel parka hood off and his wig went with it. About 500 kids screamed with laughter. That was quickly followed by the biggest snow ball fight in the history of Joseph Whittaker comp.

I loved every minute of high school, would go back to those days in a heartbeat.

Not a care in the world, fit as a butchers dog and no responsibilities. Happy Days!

Applying a layer of cling film to our 'favourite' teachers car then topping it with a decent layer of shaving foam, which somehow managed to last the half an hour or so before he was rushed to the scene...

Hearing the lady French teacher creeping up behind when my mate and i were messing in her class. She was lining up the biggest clout round the head ever, but luckily I felt it coming and ducked at the last second, she missed me completely but my mate probably still has mild concussion to this day!

Snow days!

Half our school were bussed in from satellite villages up to 15 miles away so when the snow started blowing, in fear of not getting kids home inevitably one bus was called, then another, eventually with half the kids missing we all got sent home, reasonably frequent occurence growing up in the Highlands and usually on our way home by 1200.

Kids are so happy when they get let out early and even more so with snow - it's double the fun!

Sad state of affairs not being there being my favourite part but so be it!

Snow days! Half of our campus was taken up by a Welsh speaking school. Snow = war! There was the odd teacher who tried to stop the battles, but they just got targeted by both sides.

Miss Bannen (mid-20s French Teacher - long blond hair, sheer nylon blouses and all)
Jennifer Reid (I didn't wash for days after the 1st yr school Christmas disco so as not to wash away the smell of her perfume)
Building Snow Forts in the school field and having huge defence against attack snowball battles
Getting 5 of the tawse from my heidie when the other six got 4 - as I should have known better.

I went to brilliant state schools and loved my schooldays.

We had a young female science teacher who wore short skirts, no underwear and sat on the bench at the front with no regard to who saw what. She would probably get locked up for it today...

Taking the plastic protection things from young trees to use as sledges on snow days.

School rugby was awesome.

Ski trip to Austria in year 10, epic!

Getting bashed and thrashed to within an inch of my life by the psychotic Christian Brothers and Masters for not knowing my Latin verbs, square roots and Periodic Table etc. etc.

Mind, it never did me any harm though...

Wasn't particularly keen on the actual school part but used to have to get a train to and from Guildford every day - used to love the train journey (which also gave me extra time to finish any homework as well).
Good snow day memories. Trains cancelled all over the place, eventually got to Guildford, quick snowball fight over the river with the staff at Debenhams on one side & us on the other, trooped up to school very late, school shutting about half an hour later, return match against the Debenhams staff on the way back to the train station.
Like everyone, lots of football memories. However, scared s*#tless of my headmaster, received many clouts around the head.
Great 3rd year trip on the boat from Harwich to Denmark - although if you had read the Daily Mirror report after we had got back, you would have thought we were a hoard of Vikings raping & pillaging (somehow must have missed the majority of the activities or maybe they were made up by the red tops - who would have thought ;))
