In 1996 I went to the nearest golf store in Derby. It was the Saturday of the Masters, and as Greg Norman had an almost insurmountable lead, they were doing a deal on Cobra clubs (as that was what he played at the time). I picked up 2 fairway woods to replace my Wilson Staff Persimmon clubs at half price.

3 dozen B330 RXs at a PGA golf outlet at Las Vegas airport for about $40 (when the exchange rate was 2 to 1). I am pretty sure the offer should have been 3 for $40 on the pile of cheap crappy end of range Bridgestone balls that were next to the sign, but the girl behind the counter seemed pretty clueless and she said it was on all Bridgestone balls. So I took her up on it.

Also the same place was doing an offer on a rack of old clothing that were all XS or XXXL that they were selling off at 75% discount. And next to it was a rack of new latest range Ping clothing. And again she said that the clothing offer was on both racks.

And before the moral police accuse me of being dishonest and taking advantage, she did volunteer the fact that the offer was on both racks of clothes herself without me asking, once I bought the balls. As I suspect she had no idea of the difference between ping and a cheap brand. So what am I supposed to do? So I got a ping polo shirt and ping wind cheater for about $50. God bless clueless shop assistants.
