First couple of times I heard it on the radio I very clearly heard Yanny. But this morning - and it seemed to me to be played lower - I very clearly heard Laurel - so much so that I can't understand how I heard Yanny the fist couple of times - were it not for the distinct impression I got that it was played slightly lower.

And in the clip posted 'hear' - 100% Yanny.

Not convinced there is anything odd - never mind 'spooky' or 'weird' in this - it's a bit like asking different people to describe how they see a colour.

And the point is..............

If I just hear “yanny “ am I a go getter, with a great future and all round good bloke

Or am I a knob

The suspense is killing ( not really)

Ohh Phil.. you shouldn't really load the gun with ammo like that as you know what you're going to get....

You're a real go getter, you knob.

First time I heard it all I could hear was Yanny.

The next time I heard it all I could hear was Laurel.

Sometimes I can hear both being said at the same time.

Now when I hear it, it starts with Yanny once or twice then I hear Yarel a couple of times before it just turns to Laurel

definitely Yanny listening on the Macbook, but have heard a theory that it depends what type of device you are listening on. Dunno if there is anything in that.

maybe - I heard Yanny here and on the radio when listening on speaker - and heard Laurel when listening to radio using earphones. Sounds like we're heading down the route of amount of digital compression and what frequencies are filtered out or boosted. Which does not surprise.

Laurel, clear as day. Heard it on the radio yesterday, listened to this link just now. Same both times.

Maybe if I listened constantly it would change but not on those two hearings.

It is a frequency thing, those who hear high frequencies will hear Yanny, though it does sound like Yammy and those who hear low frequency will hear Laurel.

As above I can hear both

I can hear both (do the old phone in the mouth trick to exaggerate the bass for Laurel). Once you hear them you can pick between which you want to hear, sometimes anyway as I couldn’t get Yammy out of my head for a while 😂

Strange that I have got hearing aids for loss of high frequency sound but ,clearly heard Yanny

I wasn't, and rarely do wear the hearing aids 😁
