So which of these sums up when you start your Xmas shopping?

Everyone does it differently so there is no wrong answer. Also if you select one then the following automatically apply so pick the earliest you do.

Personally I don’t get all the fuss but my wife is from a family who go all out for the festive period. I much prefer to buy and give gifts through the year at appropriate times than mandatory holidays.

As I am clearly not in the know it would be good to see how others approach it.

First year we haven't been all ready for Xmas by now. So are almost in normal persons category

Avoid shops completely in December normally. As it's completely mental

Like to be organised so it’s usually done start of November. So mines already done. Also do the be someone’s santa and its a great cause and anyone who can afford it should have a look on there website. I got a 4 year old boy and 11 year old girl this year so will pick there xmass up next week.

I don't even give it a second's thought until it's December at least. Then find out what people want and order as much of it online as I can. Maybe venture out to the shops in the last week before Christmas if there's anything I haven't managed to order yet - most years I have holiday to use up so I'll be off from around a week before Christmas Day. I find the shops are never as bad as you think on Christmas Eve because most people have finished by then. :p

There wasn't a "Don't bother at all" option ?

Me, Mrs B, & my family decided years ago that we'd not bother any more - and we'd give to charity whatever money we would have spent. Works for us. (Ps. We have no kids )

Just told everyone to buy me Islay single malt whisky.

And as my birthday is 27 December, everyone can either get me another bottle or a blooming good one

Sorted ?

The girls just want dosh, so that’s easy

I hate Christmas shopping with a passion. Trudging around shops trying to buy things for people that they don't really need just because it's Christmas.
I keep mine very simple for this reason. For the wife and parents I ask them what they want and buy them. For other family members that I'll be saying on Christmas Day or Boxing Day, I just get everyone the same generic gift - usually a wine & chocolates gift set or something like that. Stick with alcohol and food and it's less likely that they wouldn't want it. :p

Guess it might be cheaper this year as I assume I won't be allowed to see anyone. ??‍♂️
