www.golf247.co.uk?????

Hello. I hope you are all well. Im Stuart from Golf247 and would like to clear a few things up regarding this post.

The first thing is the post from Mr Learney. You post was done on the 10th January, saying you placed the order the previous Monday, which indicates the 2nd January. Your order was actually placed at 22.18 on the 5th January. The order was then processed in the morning of the 6th January, as we dont work through the night. You didnt give us much chance to get the club to you before complaining! The club was actually delivered to you on the 12th January at 12.28. And taking the weekend into account, this doesnt seem that bad. No reply to your calls, we spoke to you a couple of times, and you were kept up-to-date with the tracking of the club all the way.

I notice Mr Leaney hasnt been back on here to state that he received the club, that he was kept up to date all the way, and that he is happy with it.

Here at golf247 we are trying to keep our customer service a notch above the rest, and people complaining when there isnt really a problem doesnt help us at all. We know we are not perfect, but we try our very best to get as close to it as possible.

Basher: Thanks for the post on the Ping equipment. Our account is registered under one of our shops, and hadnt been linked to the website, so we are looking at getting this sorted now.

I saw that Rosecott put our Ping statement on this thread.
"Ping believe that their quality products are not suitable for direct sale via the internet and should only be purchased after seeking advice from a qualified golf professional.
We are therefore unable to add Ping products to your shopping basket, but if you telephone us on
0845 2604 247, our professional staff will be happy to help you select the right Ping product."

This is how Ping run their policy. Goods are not allowed to be sold online, and this is why it says this on the site.

I hope this clears a few points up with everybody, and i hope we can do business with you all in the future.

Stuart

Hi Stuart,

Let's clear a few things up.

I received the club on Thursday. Which means I haven't replied to this post within the last 48 hours of receiving the club.

I ordered the club on the 5th of January and I received the club on the 12th. That's 7 days! And not the 1-3 days that your website advertises.

I emailed your company for an update, to which I didn't received a reply.

I then called you on Monday and I was advised that the club would be with me on Wednesday. But when nothing arrived on Wednesday morning, I then rung your company again. But this time the gentlemen advised that the reason the club wasn't sent out earlier, is because I hadn't selected the loft that I wanted.

From memory, I don't think your website allows a customer to select a driver without choosing the loft they require. And regardless, it wouldn't have hurt to give me a call to confirm what loft I would like.

If I hadn't have rung your company twice to chase this up, I probably wouldn't have my club yet.

However, I have now received my driver and I'm very happy with it.

I understand why you would want to come onto this website and defend your company. But please keep in mind.....the only reason I found your company was because a fellow member on this forum had suggested your website.

I have every right to ask fellow members (one of whom I would have recommended you), whether or not they thought that your company was 'safe'.

I would use your website again but I wouldn't expect delivery within the 1-3 days that you quote.

I don't know why I'm getting involved but I have a thing about people bashing the few companies that actually care so here's an extract from the FAQ section on the website.

How long is delivery likely to take?
  • To the UK - 1-3 working days
  • Europe - 4-7 working days
  • Rest of the World - 10-15 working days
Now it says it's "likely" to take 1-3 "working" days. So your delivery was ordered on the 5th and recieved on 12th. Now say you ordered after the daily deadline of delivery, so your order gets processed on the 6th then it's the weekend 7th and 8th, you then received your club on the 12th so really it was only 2 days past the "likely" delivery date and you didn't state your desired loft when ordered so to me I think it's reasonable it took 5 days.

Also, in previous posts you said you had no contact at all but then it turns out you had contact through numerous phone calls? What's that all about?

I have no idea why you are either.

The phone calls took place after my first post, when I eventually got a response.

I never came on to the forum and 'bash' anyone. I simply asked the question if anyone had any issues with the company as I was unable to get a response and it was a new online company to me.

I have every right to ask about a company, that I only knew existed after seeing a comment on this forum about them.

The item wasn't posted until Wednesday - 6 days after they took payment. I personally think that taking 6 days to post an item out, isn't great.

But..... we are getting away from the point. I was just after reassurance from fellow GM forum users, for an online golf shop that was new to me and that I hadn't had a response from.

Now, Monday was the 9th and you posted the thread on the 10th? Which means you had made contact before the thread was created. Sounds to me like you try to twist things to sound correct but oh well. I give up on the topic, Stewart's already defended the company.

In my original post, it said 'last Monday and not 'this Monday'.

I meant to write 'I ordered it last week' not 'last Monday'. I think I wrote Monday, as I was thinking my delivery should arrive on Monday 9th, having place the order on the 5th.

I have no reason to twist anything. But as you have gone to great lengths to get involved in what is an innocent matter. I can only guess that you are maybe friends with Stuart or are an associate of the company perhaps. Else I would see no reason for you to accuse me of 'bashing; the company or 'twisting' things.

Fact is...I have an invoice and I have a signed delivery note - that are 7 days apart. Not that this was the original point to the email but it does show that I was right to worry about not receiving my goods, as they dididn't arrive within 1-3 days.

I could post the invoice and signed delivery note on the forum to show this. But I have better things to do with my time and other forum users have better things to read on this forum,

Turns out that Golf247 are a trusted company as I received my Driver - and that was the point to the original post.

And I will 'never' bother asking about a company that I have never heard of before again. I'll just use a store that I already know of.

I have to say reading the response from the guy from the company it seemed pretty fair and reasonable and to be honest I've had far worse customer service from a lot of other online golf stores (are you readding this 118 golf, and Golf support?)

I agree and I don't have an issue with the guys in the slightest.

All I wanted to do was check they were an ok company because I hadn't had a response from them to begin with. Lock me up and throw away the key as I think that's the only thing that will please 'DEAN'.

I'm not sure what my motive would be to 'twist' things etc. Maybe I work for Direct Golf or another online golf company and I'm trying to paint a bad picture of my rivals? I can't think of any other reason.

People came on here to say they has used Golf 247 and were happy with their service. Golf 247 have actually ended up with some good advertising because there have been many views on this long and boring thread.

I'll be ordering the Adidas Tour Bag from them next as their prices are very good.

So, after all this bickering. Was it worth it for the club? Has your game dropped countless shots/gained unfounded yardage?

I ordered something from sports direct before Xmas, free delivery! They had the cheek to tell me 3-5 days for free delivery, but it came next day! Whats Mike Ashly playing at!

It was worth it......just....

It's a great driver and I'm certainly a lot more consistent with my drives now.

I think the stiff shaft helps as my last driver had a regular shaft which wasn't right for me.

Hi, I odered from belgium, on december 13th, a few things for Xmas (2 ellec trolleys and accessories, a garmin watch, and a club, total 950£)
On december 21st, I received in Brussels, the trolleys, and part of the accessories, but 4 items were missing.
I immediately tried to contact Golf247 by phone, without success, and I was missing gifts for Xmas.
Between Xmas and new year, it was impossible to reach them nor by phone or mail.
I finaly had a contact early january, and since this contact, they made a refund of 200£ on 257£, and promissed to send quickly the missing items.
I had a last contact yesterday through their online chat, and they said the order (except the watch I canceled) was ready to be dispatched.
I'm waiting a sign confirming the missing items are effectively on th way, ............more than ONE month after order.
Now the only thing I can do, is to hope I'll receive my order, .....maybe, one day.
In conclusion, when I ordered on december 13th, I had the feeling of a good deal, but today, with the missing items and their partly refund, I paid the normal price, even a bit more, and I have to add the most important: I was missing Xmas gifts, and golf247 did'nt propose any commercial compensations.
I understand, you can have delivery problems, and this specialy during Xmas period, but, if so, you should do the maximum to find a fast solution, which seems not to be a priority for Golf247.
