Is there any significant difference between the two or is it just, like so many things in golf, down to personal preference?

I'm going to be re gripping my entire bag just after Christmas and I'm torn between 2 grips. One wrap style, one regular style.

I have a feeling I already know the answer but curious to your views/experiences.

Thanks in advance

I used a set of Rapture V2 irons a while ago and they were fitted with a standard Ping wrap grip...truth told, I loved it. The wrap helped me get my hands set in the correct position. Never used wrap grips since mind.

I have these on my driver and 5 wood. Considering chucking them onto all my clubs. Just the right amount of tacky and loose zero grip when wet.

That's the thing Lump, I don't like tacky grips.

The M21 grips on my irons now have a soft, tacky feel and a shiney look that I just don't like. When they were first on they felt ok but now they just feel rank.

I think I may go full cord as I prefer a firmer, non tacky grip.

There goes the skin on my hands

Not necessarily. I think some of the more modern cord grips are a bit less abrasive. I have used Lamkin Crossline Tour full cord (terrific grip) and they were not at all harsh. I'm a southern softy office worker and had no issues with them. Having said that I'm not a big practiser so it might be different if you like to hit 150 balls on the range every night.

Interesting point Mashie

The Cord grips I'm looking to order today have Golf Prides BCT cord, which is, apparently, softer for more feel.

Wrap on my irons and wedges, much prefer it & good grip in the wet too. Regular perforated on Hybrids/woods

It just feels like it's the right way to do it

Back in the Day, I had Tour Velvet Wraps on my irons and ordinary TV on everything else.
I honestly couldn't tell the difference...
Now I have V55(?) on the irons, varying types of TV on the long clubs and Crosslines on the wedges.....

And I can't honestly tell/feel any difference.......

No good for range sessions in the summer

I have just ordered a full set of Tour velvets. I had wraps a while back but after trying MCs etc aswell the velvet does just fine.

Well, bit the bullet and just order 13 Golf Pride Tour Wrap BCT Full Cord grips.

Bit of an older model, but not too fussed as I've been keen to try cord for a while and the price/grip was too good to say no to.
