wot par holes do you hate?

Can't really say I hate any tbh. There's certain holes I don't like but it's not down to what par they are

I like par 5's as my game suits them, par 3's depend on my iron play on the day as most at my place are 180+ yards so a very good iron shot is needed. Par 4's are all very different so you can't like or dislike them.

So which par I dislike depends on my game on the day.

I used to hate par 5's till I realised they're not really to be feared, I'd have to say par 4's cos there's so many of em on a course and for me they seem to easily turn into 6's or 7's!!

I enjoy par 5s - but an honest assesment of my competition statistics over the last 4 years makes it clear that I underperform on them.

to much enjoyment, not enough focus on scoring!

Par 3's are my current dislike should love them really perfect lie with an iron in hand, no excuse not to hit the green! but at present cant even find the dance floor of our 119yarder :( so its par 3's doing my head in!

Definitely 3's. less room for error. Can reach most par 5's in two. So even if I have a bad tee shot I can play out into fairway and go for green in 3. Again with 4's a bad tee shot can usually be rescued by hacking out as close as possible with a chance for an up and down.

To me, Par 3s are simply a more obvious, and perhaps severe, test.

Similar, or even more severe, requirement can happen on a long Par 4 but that seems more 'acceptable' and we can resolve the difficulty somewhat if it's a shot hole - which tends to be more likely.

I don't hate any category of hole, though Par 5s tend to be easier for me. I'm pretty straight with the Driver, if not overly long, and 3-wood is likely to be on the fairway and reasonably close, so hitting a relatively short club into the green. That's not normally the case on Par 3/4. Most of my birdies have come on Par 3s though.

Its more of a case of what length of hole I hate rather than what par I hate.

For me its

1. Par 3s between 140-160. I never get the club bang on. I like long par 3s as I'm decent with my long irons/hybris,

2. Par 4s at around 300yrds. Never commit to a lay up unless the green is not attackable. Otherwise its the mickleson "out with driver" and itrs either a 3 or a 7

Odd choices I guess but its all preference

I tend to find myself feeling the pressure when on a par 3's. Hate is a bit strong but certainly dislike.

It's strange because for most the worst result should be on the green in 1 shot more than GIR. Something I'm comfortable with on any other par hole. I suppose it's the fact that many tend to have so much trouble in play and if you don't at least hit the green from the tee you do take a hit to your ego.

Which* par holes do i dislike?

Par 3's - feel like there is too much emphasis on hitting the green in one
Par 4's - Some are just too long
Par 5's - Some are just too long...again

I hate all holes. But I love golf

Par 5s with two sand traps on the fairway and a pond in front of green to be specific. I will overcome. I don't hate it but it does drive me to frown!

A hole is a hole is a hole. Makes no odds what par it is to me, just gotta get the ball in the hole in as few shots as possible

I love (term used loosely) 17 of our 18 beautiful holes.

But our par 3, 6th, SI 18 has got me all over the shop at the minute.

It's the easiest hole in golf. 145 yards to a front pin or 160 to a back pin. I usually play a 7 iron and go for the middle of the green - never going to be far away from the pin. Bunker on the left seems to be able to pull my ball in no matter what line i'm playing for.

I managed a par on it over the weekend, duffed a chip as I missed the green right, but managed to roll in a 30 footer!

Recent scores have been 7, 5, 4, 6, 3, 4 - Outrageous.

My stats for par 3's is pretty shocking. But then, my stats for par 4's and 5's isn't exactly setting the world alight!

I don't hate them but the Par 3's at my place are what's keeping me from a good score at the moment, well that and my crap play!

-Our 4th hole is only short and usually no more than a 9iron from the tee to centre of green, but the green is 3 tiered and massively sloped from left to right and you can't get the ball to stop!
-Our 9th is 210yards and is usually anything from a 4iron upto 3wood depending on wind and its the biggest green on the course with more undulations than the Andes.
-Our 13th is 190yards with bunkers left, a huge swale on the right and a green than is sloped back to front with a ridge in the centre so again you're looking at 4/5 iron or even hybrid if into wind to a small target
_Lastly the 17th the hardest of the lot 205yds bunkers left & front right, OOB left and more trees than the amazon to the right means again at least a 4 iron or upto a 3wood into the wind. I've even seen drivers hit into here and its not a large target but again is undulating and like putting on glass.

Played with Latty last week and was happy to realise that for the par 3's I was only +1 and that was a bogey on 17th so hopefully I now know I can play them. Bet I double the lot in comp this week though.
