You're talking about the 70s, but thinking of the 50s. The modern ball had well and truly arrived. I was only 8 then so don't remember the ball, but '78 was the adidas tango.

74 world cup is the first one I remember, we'd just got a colour TV, and we got Scotland in the World Cup, even then I knew how special it was, and couldn't get a grip of us not losing and being out.

I was 9 in 74 and we had out first colour telly and bet my Dad 2p holland would win the final match, as steve says, happy days
