Streak of 1. Must admit I used the anagram solver fof guess #4. I was stumped. Putting in all the unused letters gave me just one 5 letter word which didn't have my first two guesses as second letter.

Some may regard this as cheating but people do this for crosswords. You have to use all the tools available.
