Great or horrific news depending on which side you fall but the great one appears to be fit again, lets hope he stays that way for the masters :)

Anyone see Feherty's 1st tee announcements? a little close to the mark but in his usual funny style

Can't believe he's recovered from his fake I'm playing crap injury already!
I did my Achilles in and it took me a month to get back to walking normally,I dislike him more and more every day.

My god, nearest pin prizes a boat and a A.Piquet watch. Sure beats the nasty ass plastic things that are normally given out :)

Tigers control out of the rough today is sublime. The bunker shot 3rd on the par 5 was abit special also.

What's your point? David Toms also withdrew from the same tournament from back injury. He came out the following week to play the Transitions.
I'd say, their healthcare is a tad bit better than ours........

I missed it, what did he say ?

my point being he was faking it because he was playing absolute garbage
you just don't recover that fast no matter how good your healthcare

And you know how severe the achilles injury was how? It may have been more of a discomfort thing walking that he decided to pull out rather than preventing him swinging. Either way, good doctors, physio sessions etc and I can't see how a MINOR aggravation wouldn't clear up

I wonder if Luke had a similar problem and walked off - would he be getting this flak?

I think not.

We have no way of knowing how bad or not the injury was.
To be fair, he may have taken into account the fact that he wasn't going to win and decided that pulling out was the best course of action to prevent the injury worsening.
Would he have stayed out there if he was in contention?
We're talking about about a Guy who won a Major with a knackered leg FFS

^^^This!

It would had been a stupid idea to carry on and worsen the injury especially when the 1st Major of the year is just round the corner.

And you know how bad it was how? Sorry but if your wincing in pain with an Achilles injury then you are simply not going to recover in 2 weeks,it's a notoriously slow healing part of the body due to poor circulation. He may have had an injury granted,if he had felt a twinge and stopped then fine but less with the drama queen please!

Can you tell I'm not his biggest fan lol

Woods fan or not, don't you think it's a bit bad form that everyone was wearing team colours from top to toe, but Woods felt the need to wear his "TW" hat. Before the word "sponsors" gets banded around, if that was the case, it would apply to every single bloke playing yesterday.

They interviewed Woods after his round, and he explained why he pulled out of the previous comp (no, it was never a serious injury, and yes, he pulled out to save himself for the Masters). It is pretty much the first time he has ever acted sensibly, and not carried on with an injury, and as a result he has bounced back quickly. I guess if it had been a major he would have carried on, but it wasn't, so he quit.

As far as I am aware, Woods has never pulled out of a tournamet because he was playing badly. Unlike say, Michelle Wie, who was in damger of losing her card if she continued and completed her round, so she through a sicky.

If the Woods bashers ever get a genuine chance to have a pop at Tiger, fair enough, but inventing conspiracies wears thin after a while. Why not let his golf do the talking, and if he fails miserably, I'm sure he'll shuffle off into the sun set. Just don't hold your breath waiting.

+1. As someone who has suffered from achilles problems in the past, a sensible decision by Woods with Augusta coming up.

Tiger Woods is not the only one though, I see Gmac is wearing his Srixon hat and Ernie Els is wearing his Callaway hat.

Poor old Tiger, can't do anything right these days. I actually think he suffers because the coverage from the States on him is immense. Those pictures of him leaving the course after the injury were so OTT, but he didn't ask for that, far from it, he hates the attention. Instead people get wound up because when we want to watch the WGC we get to see him driving his car. No one wins.
