Not so much of a suprise I guess but missing the US and now this Woods confidence in his game must be at an all time low.We know how great he was and he's obviously had his day and I dont think he could get anywhere near the current crop of golfs superstars nowdays but I for one would love to still see him tee it up in the majors again :).

Don't think it is confidence in his game...he can't play pain free yet. I think he said he would return when he could play 36 in a day with no pain, or something along those lines.
Fairly sure, out of everyone, Tiger would have plenty of confidence in his game

Personally I dont think its an injury issue with Woods anymore,I think he's simply had his time and his game in nowhere near where it once was and when he regains his form to a standard he's happy with he will play again, but I wouldnt be suprised if he retired though if he feels his game wont give the worlds best a run for their money.

He doesn't have that long to wait until he can play on the Seniors Tour

I think he will be back next season playing competitive golf
I believe the same.
He's doing the right thing this time. Giving his body a chance to repair the damage done during an op. He even said himself the other evening that he has come back too quickly after previous ops and had done damage.
Winner circle when he comes back, I'm not too sure. But he'll be back.

Tiger is what now, 40?

How old was Darren Clarke when he win the Open from nowhere not long ago? 45 or so?

How old was Davis Love when he won last year? 50 what?

How old was Tom Watson when he was in a playoff with Cink at The Open at Turnberry? About 60?

And Greg Norman in contention a few years ago?

And Vijay winning loads of his 40's?

Etc etc.

Tiger is only 40, you don't win 14 Majors by having the odd flash in the pan good season.

There's no reason for him to retire, in reality he's only just over halfway through his pro career.

As long as he gets fit, no reason why he can't win regularly again. Maybe not majors but who knows, you don't need to be as powerful as the youngsters to win an Open. There have been plenty of worse players than Woods that have had a great career in their 40's.
