After having the joys of my mother visiting today and telling me for the 8,000th time this was all my own fault for my decadence in my twenties (she's probably right too but boy did I enjoy the bits I remember) I'm suffering major golf withdrawal now. I've been holding my putter whilst watching the telly trying to get my grip nice and neutral.

I'm Bob Rottella'd out after two of his books today and Dave Pelz and me don't see eye to eye on lumpy donuts. Where are the great magazine programmes on golf now like Out of Bounds.. Managed to get my articles in for this month but it was painful in front of the PC. Dosed up on painkillers to sleep in a bit so able to catch up on here.

Saturday can't come quick enough to try a few putts at the club. TBH if the weather is good Friday night I might nip out for a few putts then. The only problem I can foresee is pain caused by bending down to get the balls out of the hole.

Should get the results back early next week and hoping to start hitting full shots late next week. I really, really want to get out and feel club on ball. If you are playing in thenext few days you can't believe how jealous I am and particularly those getting, trying or using new clubs.

Homer. Just shut up about it, count your blessings and think yourself very, very lucky that you will be playing again very soon. :p :p

I've got shoulder surgery scheduled in October and will probably be out until the new year (if this old git's tired body will ever recover). MWJ is out for a year! Others also have other health problems.

Do you hear us complaining about it? Well, eerrrmmm yes, I suppose we do ............ :D :D :D

Jesus Martin.
It's only been three days hasn't it????
I could understand it if you were any good.
;)

Leftie,

Can I join in?
My trouble is I am unable to last more than nine holes. Is it just extreme age, 76?
The symptoms are rather like chronic fatigue syndrome but this is unusual in people my age. The doctor has not diagnosed anything after the full range of blood tests.
I am lucky in that I can still swing a club on the course.
Who else is on the sick list?

Crocked my back last week playing football with two teenagers, the day before The Belfry trip too but managed to get round ok. Then tweaked it again on the 18th on Sunday.

Had to call off a club friendly match yesterday, just hoping I can make a swing by the weekend :(

Took HID to the club tonight for a spot of dinner and to get back into the golfing environment. I couldn't believe it was too dark to play or practice by 8.00. As HID pointed out depressingly - only 4 paydays until Christmas
