Wish I hadn't Played Golf on Sunday

Can only echo what has been said already. Dreadful luck and all the very best for a full and speedy recovery.

was having a good game but in trying ro wallop my second round the small tree 4 foot in front of me on 11, the ball rebounded straight into my right eye, smashing my glasses. I was immediately writhing around the floor in agony and blood - ambulance to Royal Berks and they operated to save the front of the eye - 2 big tram line lacerations across the eye. still badly swolen up and no vision - my lense is missing somewhere in the eye - waiting for the swelling to ease so they can see the full extent of the damage inthe back and work out what can be done! Trying to stay optimistic but damage is severe. Will let you know how i get on. :(

Hope you have a speedy recovery with no lasting damage.

I'm sure that most of us on here have, at some time, tried a shot that carried an element of risk from a deflection off a tree, wall, fence etc and thought 'it'll be ok'. This just shows that you never know when lady luck will stop smiling and how dangerous a golf course is.

Can't say anything that hasn't been said already, but I hope it all works out and you're back on the course in dubious shorts very soon, Paul!

thanks for the support guys - will let you know on progress when out of hospital - v difficult to do this on a phone with a rummy squinty dodgy lefy eye! one positive today is that despite ct scan showing a fractured lower eye socket there is no muscle etc in there so can leave to fix without an op. Speak soon ☺

Which ward you on. I can always pop over and make your day really miserable! PM me (if you can!)

Don't know you from Adam but not nice to read things like this (actually winced when reading it) hope you have a full recovery & get well soon

would you believe it. Just made a new friend in the lift as we were both being wheeled down to ultrasound. This guy had a protective shiled over his eye like me. I asked him what happened and he said he was hit in the eye with a golf ball yesterday!!!!!!! Hello to John from Flackwell Heath and wishing you a swift recovery 😊

Sorry to hear this Paul. Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.
If you need someone to look after your car and keep it ticking over you just have to ask.

You need to join a links course when you are back in action mate, apparently there are no trees.

All the best.
