Winter balls?

My preferred ball is Wilson Staff DX2 or Titleist TruSoft. However in winter, where the conditions are often poor, sometimes on temporary greens etc. I'm less fussy and tend to use up some of the random contents in my practice ball bucket.

I use Bridgestone E6 most of the year. I did buy some second hand yellow ones for the winter.. then I went to my garage and discovered I still had 6 boxes of unused titleist velocity (my old ball) so just been using them this winter .. still got loads left.. problem with getting better you dont loose as many balls!

Don't specifically change balls anymore, I'm probably just less caring about what I use. In summer I try to stick to one ball that gives me what I need, in winter I'll tend to pick up and play anything within reason.

I stick to Chrome Softs in Summer but tend to use AD333's in winter, bit cheaper, but in Winter I'm not too bothered what I use just try to stay away from premium balls as they're so easily lost.

I use a Pro V 1 during the season, but over winter us anything really. Baldrick has recently found a few Srixon Ad333 Tour and been using those, far better than the ordinary 333.

Enjoying my AD333 Tour

Need to make a decision on what balls to game next season, want to try use the same type for the whole season to get some consistency.
Hoping costco release the K-Sig in the UK as that could be a go'er.

Tend to play the balls I have won in winter as I always use Pro v1x in the summer.

Course gets very wet so anything that carries well is OK. Even I get backspin in winter so they go wherethet arehit and generally stop there.

Using some Srixon Yellow balls at present which are ok.

I am going to purchase some lady soft feel golf balls as an experiment to see if they perform better in my next round.

My swing speed is 95 to 100mph with a driver, and the balls are designed for a 70mph swing, but I believe at lower temperatures the balls harden so it is harder to compress a my normal ball.

Will be interesting to try at least!

I change. Use a premium ball during the season but no way would I waste that ball in winter conditions. Besides the possibility of loosing it, it just does not perform as well as harder balls in wet conditions. I use any type of ball that is designed for length of the tee (to maximise length off tee shot given no roll out) and less spin on greens, given they are softer and stop quicker.

That being said it depends on your game, however I fail to see how a decent distance ball would not help most in the winter

I tend to alternate the golf balls I use every winter, to see if there's a difference. I recently purchased the Wilson CX2 Soft distance golf balls from golfing retailer Golf Support and they are really good. I have managed to power through the worst of the weather so far and the majority of other golfers on the course tend to also recommend Wilson.

i use any balll i get my hands on in the winter other than premium balls. the extra spin hurts more than it helps in the winter. even the plus handicappers i play with use things such as Srixon soft feel, pinnacle gold and titlest velocity. dont really matter mate

Competitions i'll use Taylormade TP X or ProV1, in spring/summer if it's drier i'll tend to use a bit of a softer ball (last year I bought 20 Taylormade TP's on the cheap and that did me for summer).

So far this winter i've used a few Callaway CXR Control's and Titleist TruSoft. Really enjoying the TruSoft and will be interesting to see how it does when it's drier.

Owt. Dunlop, Slazenger, Ultra, Maxfli, not Donnays, I don't bend my back to pick up donnays. Anything that looks like a nightmare to find gets left and I drop another ball. I'm not losing a decent ball in deep mud.

I tend to in all but proper comps(all year round), play with cheap and nasty balls, Dunlop, donnay, slazengers, top flites etc. As I have posted before I am amazed how I cant tell the difference either in distance or feel or stopping. Makes losing balls easier!!

In winter the balls tend to stop instantly anyway with irons under 7 iron.
