Windy enough?

Horrendous wind today but I dont really mind it tbh , makes you play some improvised shots. Found myself in all sorts of weird spots and hitting 30 yds left/right of flags to counter the wind. Good fun but it really did give the short game a going over. Found out that my chipping round the greens is in a very healthy state , but my putting had a bad day and couldnt hole a thing

Enjoyed the round in perverse sort of way though

So bad that the Dunhill was cancelled on all three courses. Pity because I would have loved to see them cope with the wind.

Very Windy in the north east. I went 3 clubs down on a par 3 at ramside. Just made the green but it was only 4 foot away by the time I got there. Should've birdied it really.

Love this weather as long as it's not every weakend. Makes you think a bit.

It was soooo bad out there today, in fact I played some of my best golf in a long time. I think people focus a lot more when its windy.

Was going to start a new thread titled "Very Happy Yesterday", but fits in nicely here. It was rather windy down here yesterday, but went out with a mate anyways, and we both played out of our skins.

Set myself a target at the beginning of the year to break 90, which I did at New Year, two rounds at 90 & 89, then for some unfathomable reason, my game disappeared down the drain and I haven't shot under 100 since, mostly around 110. Went out yesterday with no expectations, playing through a sand and leaf storm as the wind tore the course apart, a course that was surprisingly empty .

The greens had just been hollow tined, covered in all sorts of crap from the wind and were dry and hard, the first four were like concrete, and I 3 putted all of them, despite some excellent play to get me there in 2 for the first 3, was 8 over after 4. Don't know what changed, but then went par. par, bogey, par par.Finished the front 9 over. Rough start on the back 9 too, only bad drive of the day, pulled it into the trees, still managed to get down in 6. Despite the wind, still used my driver or 3wood or hybrid for drives and couldn't believe how straight and far it flew, hit the fairway long and centre, 12 times off the tee, came back in 47, 12 over, shooting 92 for the round. Was absolutely ecstatic. My partner shot a 97, the first time ever he'd broken 100, and that was with a 10 on the 3rd.

For once the promise of what could have been was almost met, if I hadn't taken 4 holes to find the putting touch, may well have been mid 80's. Was bloody happy yesterday as a lot of stuff came together. Shot a net 66, 5 under handicap.

What a great day, gimme the wind anytime .
