I agree with you there, every year as far back as I can remember we have had snow the weekend after my birthday, my birthday 21st Feb.

One year we hadn't had any snow, so for my birthday, my other half took me to Iceland, nice place, newly done out, and more expensive than I thought it would be, the chicken burgers especially. Thought I'd get the Iceland joke in before anyone replied.
Anyway, we went to Iceland for a long weekend and they were having a heat wave, in February, I've got photos of us being 800 metres up a glacier in t-shirts having snow ball fights, no fresh snow fell while we were there.
When we were due to come home, we checked flights and found out that the north east had had a lot of snow, so we spent a lot, went somewhere expecting snow, got none and if we'd stayed at home we would've got snow and spent nowt.

Sounds good to me.
We will be in Sri Lanka so not likely to see much snow but if someone could just make sure the drive is clear for our return on 2 March I really would be awfully grateful.

I wished some on here worked for the Met Office. They can only forecast 5 days ahead and that's hit or miss judging by what happens around here.

Well Ive just checked Accuweather for Tyneside area until Feb 23rd...................NO SNOW AT ALL PREDICTED SO FAR!!
Yippee............lets hope its true......although I wont care if its snowing end of Feb/early March as I will be in Gran Canaria.......and golfing.

There are a few on here getting the Gulf stream and the Jet stream confused.
The Gulf stream is the sea currents that carry warm water from the gulf of Mexico towards the west coast of the UK which warms it enough for palm trees to grow on the promenade in Stranraer. The jet stream is fast moving air flows in the upper atmosphere that move the weather systems around the globe at high speeds and is used by airlines to reduce fuel consumption when flying west the east.
Will it snow this winter in the south of England?
