Have always carried but having recently changed clubs i "needed" to change my bag.
Not like my current bag was wrecked, about 6 months old but cant really have a nike bag with mizzy irons lol.

Despite the above fully valid justification for needing a new bag i just couldnt convince myself to replace like with like and get a carry bag so have ended up ordering a tour bag.

So, inorder to set my mind at ease and have backup with the wife when it arrives next week can anyone confirm that

a) ill play better now i dont have to carry the clubs around
b) bag MUST match at least 1 club in the bag...

Ask her how well she walks in Doc Martins on a hot day and if it matters that they don't match her outfit.

Ya gotta think like they do champ ;)

let her know that by pushing you will have more energy after your round for some romance time:smirk:

I honestly believe that having a trolley saves me 3-4 shots a round. Most of my playing partners carry, and you would be amazed the shots they drop from 15-16 onwards, i used to carry and i was knackered by the 16th, swing would go to pot and so would my scoring. IMHO carrying a full set of clubs and assorted crap in your bag is a waste of energy that could be used for decent shots towards the end of the round...

I do not think that there is any hard evidence to prove it will save you shots. I have a motocaddy and I feel a lot more 'with it' coming down the last couple of holes than when I carry. In theory anything that helps you conserve energy must help you, especially when the pressure is on as tirednesss can affect your mind, so you can loose concentration making you hit bad shots. Plenty of other things like drinking plenty of water to keep you hydrated can help you, rather than drinking cans of coke that can de-hydrate you as dehydration can make you feel tired and make you loose concentration and that is a fact. So the long and short of it is who knows if it can help you save shots, I do not think there is any scientific way to prove 100% that it will save you shots but theoretically it can help.

I don't think it saves shots...but I believe you arrive at a shot fresher and with more energy

I think a lot depends on what age you are there comes a time when your body says sod this get a trolley,
but i think its purely down to personal preferance.

Agree with everyones comments about being fresher and I honestly cant see how that wouldn't save shots... When I am tired my concentration is so much lower... You dont approach the 60th shot feeling how you do on the first few when warmed up.

I do not think it really has anything to do with being fit or not. I Just find I feel more refreshed when I am using my trolley, especially when it is a hot day.

But presumably you feel refreshed because your less tired which is related to fitness surely?

in the rain wind etc i would maybe use a trolley cos everything gets soaking and your wearing more gear, in the summer though, no chance. if you have a bag that has 2 shoulder straps and put it across both shoulders every time there's no problem. i always thought the trolleys were for the older generation.

I am 33 and regret not buying a trolley earlier. Ps I am pretty physically fit too, only stopped playing rugby a few years back and regard my fitness level as above average...
