I've just had a text from a pal telling me that he is 'hanging'

Given my extreme hangover, I guess he is feeling the same. How come a quiet few turns into an ALL nighter with a mixture of drinks and shots. I've got a league match today and am teeing of at 1 so I've got to pull myself round but at this rate I'll be lucky to get there never mind swing a bat

Realised a good few years back that I simply can't do that anymore if I have to function as a Human in the next 2 days.
Long gone are the days where I could start on the juice at 6pm and still be going strong at lunchtime the next day...

I am with imurg, can't do it anymore. Value my weekends too much to ruin half of it with a hangover. Damn typing that has made me feel old. I remember the days when I played rugby, finish the game sink enough beer to drown a small island then play cricket on a Sunday. Hangovers get worse the older you get!

Was at a wedding do from 1pm yesterday, through to 12 midnight. Drank a fair bit of Coke and only had about 6 glasses of wine all day. My 1st sensible wedding do ever! I guess I'm just old now.

Well that didn't go well.

A mixture of a bad head, very windy conditions, very very firm greens and taking my new bats out on the course for the first time meant I was onto a looser straight away. 27 points considering wasn't too bad but if I'm honest I shouldn't have bothered.

Luckily it's just your best 10 league cards that are counted.

I remember when weekend drinking started on Thursday night and finished Monday night, Friday and Monday shifts were a blur.

Quality :) My 5 day weekends used to be similar!

Even started going out for a few jars on a Monday night as realised I was struggling to get to sleep on a Monday due to the fact I hadn't had a drink!! Shortly after that I realised it needed to be toned down a touch....

I've officially come to the conclusion I can no longer do it either..

Don't drink that often anymore and now it'll be even less. Went out with the guys and gals from work Saturday, though have a few but once I get to the point where i'm feelng it i'll stop! Yeah that didn't happen at all I got to that point and went oh one more won't hurt, then one more and on and on....

I'm now sat at work still feeling the hangover from Saturday.......

I guess it's about priorities as much as stamina/getting older. Kids, golf and/or other hobbies and responsibilities often dictate whether one can afford the recovery time.

Definitely can't do it any more - not really sure I ever could! - Teeing off at 9 & 8 every weekend really makes for a painful day out & I've always preferred mornings to night times!

Got a wedding in Poland to go to in August which is normally a 5am finish luckily we're getting a room on site so I can go to bed and catch the end of the party when I wake up!

I can still do it, just can't afford it. A good night out can cost the same price as 2 dozen pro v's if you are not careful.

I've never been able to. Yes, I drink sometimes, and yes I've been very inebriated on a few occasions, but when I have a night on the drink I'm never sure (70/30 beer, 30/70 alcopops) whether I'll get a migraine or tipsy first!
If it's the migraine I end up with I can kiss goodbye to the following day and that's expensive if it's a work day.
