Who's the oldest........

69 off 5.

He was off 3 last year at one point but he played in alot of Senior county/national opens so got a few .1's back.

He is looking to come back down again and is playing some good golf.

Our captain is probably in his early 60's and just come down to 5.

Used to be a guy at my old club who was off 5 and 67 years old.Strange thing is,i'd have said his true handicap should have been nearer 2 or 3.
He didn't hit the ball very far,but was alnmost always hitting his second shot from the fairway, and was very tidy from 100 yards in.

No elderly Cat 1s at my club but our oldest player was 90 in February this year. He plays a full round in comps twice a week and has had handicap cuts twice since his birthday.

I played an open at my home course several years ago, we were meant to be out as a 3 ball, but some older chap was looking a game, was 73, we happy to have him join us so we had a fourball, he played off 3. nudged it 200 tops off the tee, didnt miss a fairway, and pretty much 1 putted everything. I played off 17 at the time, and it was great to see quality golf, especially round the greens.

A friend of mine retired at 56 and his handicap was 6, within a couple of years he had got down to 4 using a bag full of hybrids. He used to play 6 times a week and his longest iron was his 7 iron.

I also know a couple of guys in their late forties who are plus handicap golfers.
