Taking the day off today. I'd played 7 consecutive days so I'm feelin a little golfed out.
Then a bizarre medal team competition on Sunday where you're in a team of 4 people that you don't actually play with. So you've no idea how you're doing until you get back in.
One hell of a way to ensure that no-one "no returns". Apparently someone did on a hole in a previous year when a net 85 from the final player would have won the competition but he "no returned" on a hole.
Not a popular man with his team mates by all accounts!
Practicing today (last day of Royal Ascot so it'll be mad to try and get anywhere near the club) and then Pedro and I are taking on a 14 and 16 handicapper at Maidenhead in the Volvo knockout tomorrow
1st round club champs at home club on Sunday. Made 2nd last year but if I'm top 10 this year it'll be a miracle. Despite physio I can't get my left shoulder sorted and it's impacting my long game badly.
Can only try however but nine 0.1's out of ten cards this year doesn't bode well.
In two minds whether to play at all but need to try, ibuprofen and deep heat at the ready!
Not playing in any comps just with friends, as I have just had some more lessons and at the moment working on a new swing, got to say its holding up very well at the moment.
Went back to mouse valley to play in there open today, played pretty well, but the course has gone down hill since i last played it. Playing Westerwood tomorrow morning, starting to get back into the game again
What's it like playing golf on the weekend? Far too busy to even think about it. Might get out for 9 tuesday. I tweaked something in my left hand at the range last week so I need to see if I can play. Got the monthly Stableford wednesday and then the usual friday with CVG and Fragger.
Didnt manage anything today - but hopefully (if the wind dies down) I will be teeing of at 0800 tommorrow at Stoney for the first time in over a fortnight - YIPPEEEE!!!!
Played greensomes today, 2 over gross, 40 points, leader in the club house. Got 4somes tomorrow, so back down to earth with a bang, and the 4bbb next saturday to complete the comp.
Played in our Captains Charity day today. In teams of 4,Stableford format with the best 3 scores counted on each hole. Our team won with 129 points. Individually I shot 32 points. 18 front and 14 back. Had 2 poor drives on the back nine to ruin my score.
One of our team who plays off 27, had 48 points, who by the way is no bandit, as I've seen him shoot 112 in a medal recently. He just had one of those days, particularly on all his 2 shot holes. He had an incredible 26 points on the back nine.
