I'm more interested in the WHY people are voting for who they are voting for.

It always saddens me when I hear people saying, "Oh I am voting for X because I don't like Y" with little or no consideration to the actual policies in that particular parties manifesto, or others who say, "I've always voted Tory/Labour/Lib Dem etc all my life". Just seems very blinkered.

I'm really on the fence. Personally a Tory vote would be most beneficial to me as an individual, but I can't see past a number of their policies that seem to screw the vulnerable and the way they seem to be heading with the NHS etc. Problem is, I'm not convinced with a number of labour policies either as they're probably the worst option for me, but I do like some of their wider policies on the country as a whole.

I really don't know what to do TBH

I am voting labour. I have been a tory voter for majority of elections in my life time but cant bring myself to vote for them again

I admire corbyn the press completely go after him and he holds himself well. Also he is one MP I think could change things rather than just continue the norm

Also the torys will privatise the NHS when they get a chance, thats just disgusting

Edit I HAVE already voted labour as I vote by post

Already voted labour.
Dislike both party leaders. But the NHS and our school system needs more help. The tories are slashing both, labour isn't. That was my deciding factor. Simple

If we had PR then I, and I suspect most people, would vote purely on the basis of policies of the parties. However when you live in a constituency where the sitting MP has a huge majority then you may have to vote differently if your vote has any chance of making a difference.

I guess most will know how I will vote already. I do despair of anyone voting Labour and the damage they would bring to the country. Lollypops today mean rotten teeth tomorrow.

I'm casting my vote for Tarquin Fin-tim-lin-bin-whin-bim-lim-bus-stop-F'tang-F'tang-Olé-Biscuitbarrel of the Silly Party.

When considering this burning question I am always reminded of Billy Connolly whose view was this.

"Politicians? Don't vote for any of them as it will only encourage them."

I have only ever voted Tory in GE's but as I'm 6 months off claiming a pension I'd be better off on the face of it to have Labour saving the winter fuel allowance, the pension triple lock, free bus passes and the worry of the dementia tax BUT I think Diane Abbott must have done Jeremy's numbers and I done trust him or them at all.

Feel free to start a campaign to get Mike to give us a pay rise :whoo::rofl:

No need for a campaign. I am happy to award you a 500% pay rise on your current mod salary.

On topic, I won't be voting as I've been sent away again for work and didn't get a postal vote. I would've voted for our Tory candidate based on his record locally being very good and the fact we're in a marginal seat and I don't want Labour getting in and putting up corporation tax.

You do realise that NHS spending is at an all time high?

Saw an interesting post on Facebook from a doctor about it not being so much a funding issue as a public ignorance issue. People wanting prescriptions for paracetamol because it's free and costing the NHS £s rather than paying 30p for them in Tesco. Or people with minor ailments going to A&E instead of taking lemsip at home or seeing a pharmacist. We've got a growing and aging population which will put more demands on the NHS but at the same time people need to stop being such ****heads and use the service in the correct manner.

Is it? Is it really? Have you got anything substantial to back that up?

You mean apart from the figures that show spending on the NHS has increased year on year not only during the recent Conservative government but also previously during the Labour governments? Apart from that then I guess that I have nothing substantive (not substantial) to back that up. But if you Google total NHS spending year on year you will be able to see the increases. They've even got easy to understand graphs for the hard of thinking.

He gets confused easily.

Is that the same confusion were the tories have promised to increase NHS spending year on year to 2022 whilst at the same time the NHS being told to reduce costs by £20bn by 2020, giving with one hand and taking away with the other.
