Don't think it'll be an issue and I'm sure Westwood would have been up front to the Monty if he wasn't going to be fit enough. He said in a Sky Sports interview tonight he thinks he's ahead in terms of recovery and plans to start hitting balls again and build up to playing 36 holes a day in the week before the RC

Surely if Westwood can't play then he's removed from the listings and everyone moves up 1 place. According to the European Tour website the listings show Eddie Molinari in 10th place. Therefore he would get an automatic slot and Monty would have to pick someone else.
Edoardo M was less than 1 point behind Gmac on the World list after today - would have made it even more interesting if Eddie had overtaken him.

I believe it's because Westwood has qualified through the world rankings and Rose is the next in line from the world rankings who has not qualified or been selected.
