Who make the best woolen jumpers???

For golf Rob?

Edinburgh Woollen Mill

All the branded stuff is nice but it gets trashed if you carry or roll it up and stuff it into a pocket. I've got a couple of nice branded ones but I'll only use them if I've got my trolley. I like Glenmuir or Cutter and Buck.

Yep, for golf Gordon.
I've just bought a couple of 100% wool jumpers from the EWM, quite nice but a bit "lightweight" compared to a couple of Glenmuir's that I have.
Just looking at other makes at the moment.
Nothing fancy, just want 100% wool but a decent weight to them.

Glenmuir?
Pringle?
Lyle & Scott???

When I say "best" I mean nice, thick wooly jumpers, not the sort you can shoot peas through.

Smiffy old boy, ive a Glenmuir one given to me by the club its the warmest jumper ive ever had, not sure what its made of, not 100 wool, crew neck. Ive not had to wear it much this year as its just to warm.

The club had them Logo'd with "team member" and the club badge, its navy, hard wearing been washed a few times and hasn't changed shape.

Peter Scott is best for value and quality.

Glenmuir also good quality.

I bought a couple of PG Field woolen sweaters from EWM for £16 in a sale......they were surprisingly good.
Avoid their Colin Montgomery range, IMO they are rubbish.

Glenmuir is good

I have Lyle and Scott as well but think thry do better with their cotton jumpers

Best , (warmest and its kept well) jumper i have is a glenmuir one. It sounds the same as what Patrick described.

I have several Glenbrae wool jumpers, they keep their shape very well.
+1. Their spiral weave is excellent. Look after these and they will look after you. I have some of these for 6 years and they still look as good as new. Nothing else in my wardrobe has lasted anything like this long.

Another +1.

Our club uses them for branded gear and as louise says they are quality, and retain their shape very well. Crew necks do not stretch & become baggy.

sorry, thought I was in the golf forum, must have stumbled into the ladies tea room section......

while I'm here, whats the best, plain or pan loaf

Plain!! Can't get it down here in the south, miss toasted plain loaf so much. Always stock up whenever I go up home :(

I've a really warm Allan Paine that is hard to beat. Only thing that gets close is a Galvin Green modern fibre top.
