Not a fan, never liked her music but its always a shame whenever someone dies before their time

Part of me wants to argue with you and part of me doesn't. Like you say, it's your choice.
But one question.
You say 'they' are all the same. So you are suggesting that Keith Moon, Whitney Huston, Lemmy, and that bloke that died in the gutter that none of us know about, are all the same.
What if one day your granddaughter falls into bad company and samples the dark side. Are 'they' still all as bad as each other?
I bet you'd look after your granddaughter properly. And I bet that if Whitney had the same sort of support that you'd be willing to give your loved ones, she'd have had a far better chance of pulling through than she had in actuality.
I'm not suggesting you have to be a saint to offer compassion, but maybe a little realisation that none of us are strong enough to get through this life without help.
Apologies for sounding patronising - I tried rewriting it but it sounds bollox whichever way I put it down. I just think that writing people off like that is doing yourself a disservice, not them.

its all choices.
people make good ones/bad ones every day, some illinformed ones and some down right dangerous ones.
when it involves drugs/drink then the only decision you can truely be held responsible for it taking that drug, and to a much lesser extent what you do thereafter.
friend of a friend was drunk a couple of months ago in NI, he got involved with the wrong fellas while drunk, was punch a few times and ended up beaten up and lying in a street corner late at night.
now he may have woken the next morning and had a shower and forgot about it but the temp dropped so low that he froze to death overnight.
Decisions - one bad one can lead to very severe and unfortunate consequences. no matter who you are.
id suggest more folk are lucky each weekend that involves drink etc than saying that the odd few are unlucky.

Just for anyone who thinks i am being to harsh, then i am coming as someone who would end up dead if i took a drink or drug because i have that addictive nature that goes all out for anything i try. so i can only sample harmless things in life cause i never really only "sample" anything.

i agree with most that its a shame but then again she made the choices she made and taking drugs was one of them.but i'll still have a wee chuckle at the jokes,why not?i didn't know the lady just like none of you's did!!!

for me it's not realy about respect. As you say we don't know these people. However the majority of these that do the rounds when someone famous dies can't be classed as jokes. They just aren't funny..

Havent read all the rplys been honest .. I struggle to feel sympathy for someone / anyone who has soo much but doesnt apreciate life , do these people afford much sympathy when they are partying hard or living in the million dollar houses ... living their 1 million miles away from reality lives .. there are people throughout the world struggling each day to hang on ton the precious gift of life & there are others who dont value anything because they have too much of everything .. the people i feel sorry for are the ones left behind , not the ones that used them as money horses etc but family & the people who were there for them , who tried to help them etc , their real friends & family .. As for whitney , rest in peace i hope you find hapiness but i wont be thinking of you when i try find the dosh to pay this months Mortgage payments ,

there is always going to be jokes making the rounds,but its the joke itself we have a chuckle at and not the person themselves.
