Which pro could you beat

Never mind trying to beat one of these guys, it would just be fantastic to play in the same 4ball as one of them. I think after a round with any of these top pro's, we'd all be taking up fishing!!!!!!

Matchplay....

I recon I could pinch the game off a few pro's but I doubt that if it were tour pro's, I think it would be incredibly difficult to beat them, they would have to be having a bad day while I have a great one.

A club or working pro who doesn't get too much practice in, forever spending their time helping others rather than themselves,or in some cases always in their shop, yep, I think I could pinch a few matchplay rounds off them, with full h/c allowance. I fair quite well off scratch in matchplay against high single to low single figure players so with extra shots I think I could give a few a run for their money.

I would of played against both Casey and Karlsson about two months ago......and made sure we were playing for money!!! ;)

Mind you, the shame of getting duffed up by two guys that are injured would be even more humiliating!! :(

Ollie Wilson, I reckon I could keep his winless streak going.

I'd like to play alongside one of the taller guys (Fisher or Els) just to see those elegant, effortless swings and watch the ball fly. Might even get a few tips.

I also reckon that most pro's would struggle to putt on our crappy greens.

Any tour pro would destroy everyone on here these guys are the best of the best - I was reading something the other day that said given the scores Tiger has shot over the last three seasons and the slope rating (US System) of the courses he played, his handicap would be +13.

Yes I know he is the best but I don't think people realise how tough the courses are set up most weeks.

I think anyone that's said they'd have a chance against a tour pro is delusional at best.

In any sport, top pro's are just so much better than even the best of amateurs it's crazy.

I'd love to play with a top pro, just to see how low they could score on a course set up for club golfers.
Also, they wouldn't struggle with the less than perfect conditions imo.

Fair point bobmac, I would like that sort of money also, but would hope I'd be much less of a tool.

I personally don't think Poulter will win a major ever, nor will be as good as he already thinks he is.

As a junior I was a member of Kedleston Park Golf Club and our club pro was DJ Russell, who at that time was pretty much a part time tour pro.

As I was a good friend of his son, and the junior captain, I often got to play a few holes with him.

He was generally regarded as one of the best strikers of the ball on the tour and was a very big hitter, but he had a poor short game. (Lost one tournament by 4 putting the last hole).

When he hit a ball it was an amazing sight. The distance, height & accuracy were unbelieveable. He carried drives over trees most of our best players could barely reach and his iron play was immaculate.

The difference between him and the scratch club players was massive & they were brilliant to me. It's a different league like comparing a semi-pro footballer with a premiership footballer.

I dont think it is out the question to beat a tour pro although as others have said it would be extremely difficult.

However if it were full difference handicap wise and they were off +5 i would certainly give it a good shot wouldnt expect to win like. I think the hardest thing would be dealing with the aura of playing with the tour pros as when they all play with tiger they struggle with the "tiger factor" and i think we would struggle with watching the long drives and close second shot and would get disheartend.

If i had to choose someone to play against i would go for Luke Donald and as long as it was at goswick only because i think he would be great to watch and he seems a down to earth guy.

On hollow tined greens that were very slow.

I would choose to play Luke Donald, as he is one of the shortest hitters on tour. At least if I could drive level with him it would be less intimidating than taking on Queros or one of the other big hitters.

But win? Heck, I can't even take money off Smiffy.

I've just looked at Luke Donalds stats on the PGA tour. He averages 275.7yds off the tee & hits 62.5% of fairways.

I reckon our average distances will be way short of that.

Saying that, he is one of my favourite players and one who is massively underrated having had 6 top 10s over there this year.

The fact that we can even contemplate this topic is the great thing about golf, If we were talking about tennis, football, athletics or any other sport it would be a ridiculous concept.

Tiger .....bring it on :D

No point in messing ,go for No. 1 . Would play him at my place as long as he hit driver on every hole par the Par 3s, he may free drops in the desert with 5 tonne rocks as immoveable objects but you cant move 4ft gorse bushes. :D

Steve, I would be out with a strimmer and chainsaw to help Tiger as well as an airhorn for the top of your backswing!

You beating Tiger Woods, christ it would be like Celtic winning the European Cup again, you would never hear the end of it and I'm dam sure I wouldnt be buying the DVD!!!!

Any way if I had to choose it would have to be Paula Creamer and I'd loose 10+8 just to get that kiss sooner :D :D!!!!
