I've long since been a convert to Srixon Z-Star or Taylor Made TP, both as long, as much spin, but cheaper and more durable than a Pro V imo.

But today I had a Bridgestone B330 in my bag, so knocked two balls round, that and a Pro V1, I was surprised (as the Bridgestone gets rave reviews as well) to find the Bridgestone consistently 20 yards back from the Titleist, so for me it is definetely a non-starter.

So what's the consensus for premium balls?

I know it sound like a strange reason to use it, but one of the main reasons I use the Pro v1X is the way it feels of the putter. I think premium balls are all pretty equal some are slightly better at one thing others at something else.

I tried to switch to the Nike one a couple of years ago as I liked the way it seemed to stop without spinning but hated putting with it

I've swicthed from a TM TP red ball to a callaway Hot HX hot which i don't seem to be able to stop as quick as the TM ones. I'm not a fan of Pro V because of the price and I still loose a few ball now and then. As soon as my stock runs out of the hot hx, i'm back to tp red's.

Srixon Soft-Feel for me. My ball of choice.
I seem to play better with a ball that's got green writing on it.
I remember some slazenger balls many years ago that had a green puma on them. They were nice too.

I like the z-stars at the moment. I used to use V1x's but I find the z-stars are just as good (for me), slightly cheaper and don't scuff up anywhere nears as much as the v1x's.

I found a box of v1x's under the my shelves last week :D when I was sorting out my office. Forgot I had some left so might give em a go again.

I play prov1 all the time however yesterday i played a srixon ad333 and i was extremely impressed, longer off the tee but not as good around the greens chipping but superb off the face of the putter.

Bridgestone B300 RXS - superb ball and I've not noticed any loss in distance which for a girly short hitter like me is great (and noticeable immediately)

I bought a dozen of these a while back and this may sound strange but I do seem to lose them easier than a ProV. Maybe they spin differently or what but they go off line more often.

So I'm sticking with ProV's and Zstars once the Bridgestones have gone - not too long now!!

I dont use a premium ball as such....Im not sonsistent enough yet but i do like the Z Star's....I tend to either play with AD333's or Soft Feel.....I prefer the Soft feel though i seem to be straighter with it......I prefer playing the same ball all the time....that way they feel the same off all the clubs....

Now way Dude

Whats happenning is that you hit just as many bridgestones into the rough as Prov's , the difference is that while you have been on the bridgestones the rough has gotten 2 feet thick and they are just more difficult to find again.

If you dont wanno lose them, Don't hit them into the rough you pillock

fragger :D

I find the exact opposite. I used to lose ProV's and I just can't seem to lose the Bridgestone's.

Im still playing with the same ball after 3 rounds :D

I'm one of the growing band of Bridgestone converts. I play the S and the 3 things I like about it compared to the Pro-v I used to play are...

Lower more consistent flight with my wedges.

Slightly firmer off the putter

£5 a dozen cheaper :D

Try playing 72 holes in one day and I guarantee you'll lose some :D

I just love the srixon "soft feel",bought 3 boxes in february for 40 quid and have been a fan ever since.I use them for practice, and for playing a round with..overall an excellent ball

I don't have balls big enough to play 72 holes in one day :D
