Planning a 2/3 day trip in July to Cornwall, and want to fit in 2 rounds of golf, going to be around the Penzance area, where would anyone recommend to play.. ideally if I could find a course with a hotel / spa everyone on the trip would be happy

Mullion GC on the Lizard peninsula is worth a shout, played there when I was on holiday a couple of years ago. Decent track with great views on some holes, and I found it exceptionally friendly. Only 20 miles from Penzance as well.

Apparently "St Enodoc" is an absolute cracker and looks it from the pic's I've seen of it, one that's on my "too do" list !...

Carlyon Bay just east of St Austell.

St Mellion is one heck of a trip from Penzance, West Cornwall is at St Ives so the others would be able to enjoy (?) what is on offer there, St Enodoc best course in the county but not a lot else nearby.

Trevose and St Enedoc are super tracks and are highly recommended. Worthwhile checking travel times from Penzance.

Agreed. Carlyon Bay is a lovely course. Some of the holes next to the coast are almost like Pebble Beach (if the sun is shining).

That's pushing its quality - quite a bit imo! I wouldn't rate it worthy of a trip from Penzance (and back) even if the Hotel was used once by the Blairs for a Summer holiday!

Better to call at St Mellion as a staging point (it's almost the other end of the county!) on the way there or back imo.

Perranporth, its like Marmite to some, you'll either love it or loathe it.

hate it.

newquay is nice, but maybe a bit far from Penzance.

Hollywell bay is a nice fun course to take the kids for a knockabout, the views make up for the course.
