Just flicking through my Golf-Monthly iron guide and notice there are no Macgregor irons ?? I remember the last range of irons they produced looked pretty sweet, (and from memory MikeH even had them in the bag for a while), but thinking on, I have never even saw that range in a golf shop ??

have they gone under ??

Their website hasn't any press releases since summer last year and neither American Golf or Direct Golf are selling their clubs.

Don't know any pros playing them - Norman, Olazabal and Baddeley used to?

Does look a bit worrying.

Have an affinity with Macgregor after playing MCX's for afew years as a youngster,

Shame, as I still have a set of 1025Ms, and they are a good looking club. Pity I am not good enough to play with them really.

dodger is right, they have pretty much gone phut (in the UK anyway). No new products since the MT range last year, I had a set of the MT pros (7-PW blade 4-6 shallow cavity) and they were super clubs

as everyone has said - its a great shame, they had a fantastic history in the game

I got some hints around April last year but it was all sub-rosa as there were hopes of a rescue.

Shame, I have their 565's and a future set would always have had Mac's well up the list.

It's a sad day. I've been in mourning for 72 hours.

I'm also picking up odds and ends (455s 565s, 675s, spare irons, wedges etc.) everywhere I can.

Better get a set of MacTec NVG2s before they're gone too.

Currently £199 at DG, how low can they go before I crack???

Where have Macgregor gone ??

They're away looking for Messers Maxfli, Dunlop and Slazenger.

Another one bites the dust.

Lets just hope that the brand name is not picked up on the cheap and wrecked like Maxfli, Dunlop, Slazenger and Letters

Its a real shame as their kit got really good reviews (MT irons for instance) and I get along really well with my driver (see sig). Like others I hope they don't get picked up by some rubbish corp and turned into another slazenger.

Yes, they've produced some great kit.

My range pro (still manages scratch from time to time) uses a MacTec NVG2 driver.....he loves it.

Underrated driver, wish I'd got one t.b.h.

I'd really like a bag too.....better get hunting....
