Today I played at Garstang in a long arranged golf day, while I am glad it went ahead, the course was in awful condition, the was a mass of standing water on the fairways, the greens and the rough and most of the bunkers were flooded, when I pushed the trolley, water sprayed everywhere. I was practically impossible to find a dry spot to drop from standing water.
I am sure that had it been a private club the course would have been closed, but it was a Best Western hotel and golf course and they obviously rely of golf days and societies for their income, but should it be like that, shoudnt they consider the effect of paying on a course in such a state.
