When is it time to call it a day?

Give up now ...................... for good and then PM me regarding your Scotty .
Seriously though, don't fret just because you suck as a golfer, you never know, your fiancé might suck as a wife! ;)
Take a break, enjoy your new life & give golf another go when you feel your ready to.
If you still hate it, then you'll know.
Congrats on your wedding mate ................... enjoy.

.

sadly I may need a new keyboard now....shouldn't drink and read posts on here

if I'm not 3 under par after 8 I think of chucking it............:mmm:

then it turns into another 80+ round and I think thats it.

3 hrs later at home I have a new strategy and plan the next foray into golf land...

...then the cycle repeats:swing:

Never give up, shot an 87 last week and came second. Today a 99, who cares, I am alive enjoying myself with great company on a great course. No work, no hassle just cost me £3 to my playing partners. Just enjoy it, your getting married and your worried about golf pmsl, you got a lot to learn lol

Think of golf clubs as a pressure relief valve for a marriage.

Some women have bingo, pilates (dont know why they like Chinese buccanneers),coffee.

We have pubs, clubs and football clubs.

You need them to appreciate each other and let absence let the heart grow fonder.

There'll come a time......

Most things in life that are worthwhile present a challenge. You will probably soon realise that marriage is one of them.

Take up the challenge and never give up. It's a beautiful game!

Yesterday I had a similar experience ! Haven't enjoyed golf this year at all, hacked my way round again and sat in the car wondering why I play! Anyway, happens to everyone. Got home, ebayed my blades and am buying something more forgiving. The frustration makes the good rounds better, played long enough to realise that now.

Mate, on fri I had 4 points after 11 holes of completely crap golf . Felt like smashing my clubs into my playing partners face ( just to ease the frustration ) After 12 holes I was planning to never play golf again . Walked in after 18 and calmed down , looking forward to my next game and if it goes wrong I can try and beat my new record of 7 blobs in a row. Oh yes I was on fire .

If i hated golf i would give it up, even if i have a bad round i cant wait to get back out and put it behind me, if i have a good round want to play again asap. If i ever get the feeling i hate it i will stop, i love it rain or shine, cold or hot.. Golf is a game you must love..

You could be suffering from the same Affliction as me, I believe its quite common at this time of the year.
Does this sound familier...

The season has started and you've been really looking forward to it so you go out and hammer it as much as you can.
What happens.. The swing gets a bit tired, bad stuff creeps in,and you start playing Crap.

Its called Early season Shitus Golfitus. It's quite common at this time of the year

Getting married is actually a good remedy. Give it a few weeks and you won't be able to get back out there quick enough!

Yep, got me a bout of this :(

Well the weekend is now over. I did indeed get smashed on Saturday. Felt alot better on Sunday for it too. I just got so frustrated, Friday I played well, managed 28 points, Saturday was like I had never picked up a club before. Playing with fellas that have never played on a course didnt help. Over it now, will be back on the course Sunday.

I'm sat in my hotel room on my stag do after 10 holes of golf. Been playing for over 2 years. Spent a lot of money and I havent got any better. Never hated golf as much as I do right now. Think its time to accept the fact that I'm no good at it and give it up.

I was thinking of packing the whole game in last year thought give it one more year
Moved club and thought wow some people who can't walk or move much would do anything to play golf/sport
Think yourself lucky to be out in the fresh air and not like they are or stuck in a office or warehouse

Get out and just enjoy yourself laugh at crap shots. We ain't pros!!!!
