When are you satisfied with your clubs?

If I could afford it I'd change the following:

Driver & woods - Titleist 909 c/f
Wedges - c/f vokeys
Putter - probably a Scotty but I'd have fun trying them all out.

Having said all that, what I've got is working for me (apart from my pitching wedge which clearly has a mind of it's own!!!) and I'd only be changing for bragging rights rather than game improvement. My driver and woods go long and straight, I've finally worked out how to hit my irons and my putter was good to me the last time out.

Having said all that, I'm playing Saturday so I'll probably post that as a result of a shocker the Wife and kids are for sale and I'm booked in on the Monday for a c/f session!!!

I am happy with my set up, and will be for the next couple of years at least. Most of my stuff has been c/f'ed, so if I can't hit it it is me. It has also got me to my lowest ever h/cap.

Shoes on the other hand, mmmm. I also am up to 7 pairs.

Having problems with my driver - a wild and constant duck hook - I bought a 3-wood (!) for 80 Euro and I am very happy with it. Now every time driver doesnt work I use my 3-wood which is straighter and, if I flush it, I dont seem to lose much distance either. The shaft of one of my rescue club broke so I replaced it and I got a new sandwedge (bent shaft after hitting it against a tree), rest of my equipment is between 5 (irons) and 10 years (putter, lobwedge) old.

In between changes, Titleist D2 driver, Taylor Made Tour Burner driver, Adams XTD Pro. Now onto a Ping Rapture V2¬

Fairways, TM Tour burner 3 + 5 woods upgraded shafts to Graphite designs YS-Q. Just bought a 2nd hand Srixon M-steel.

Irons, just changed to Ping I10 with grafalloy prolaunch red shafts!

Wedges are unchanged wooooooooooohooooo!!!

Putter, Sabertooth went (after a 2thumb experiment) and I went back to my 2 ball broomhandle, also bought a scotty cameron branding iron (futura) broomhandle and punted that after about 3 weeks and now onto a Taylor Made belly number!

Total out of pocket for driver changes including buying and selling is roughly £120.

Fairways roughly £100

Irons, £150 upgrade, got a bargain.

Putters, made a £20 profit

roughly spent £350 plus my skycaddy. Ooops just bought a Mizuno CLK Fli-hi thingy for £40 and want to buy the 20 degree version, however I hope to offset that by selling my current 3+5 woods.

Dont think thats too unreasonable over a season and I had my last irons for 5 years. Fingers crossed this year will see me spend nowt, however I cant find a fairway wood that I'm happy with yet!!!!!

Flipping heck Craw, you have certainly been through some stuff.

This has been my most successful year yet h/cap wise, and I have had the same irons, putter, wedges, 5w all year. I have ditched my 3w for a 50 degree vokey (at zero cost), and changed my driver from a 907D1 to a 909D2. That is it. I have no further upgrades to make for a few years.

That said, the driver cost a fortune (rip off merchant in the pro shop), but if I keep it for a few years, then it will pay off over time.

I replaced everything in the bag (including the bag) this year as I was making a return to the game, so was happy with everything and not looking to change. I made the mistake of borrowing a Titleist driver and loved it, so obviously had to buy one. Pretty much satisfied with the rest, although I loved the R9 irons when I tried them out last week
