AAhhhh, Ayrheads Numberplate posts been removed........shame twas FAF!

A bit harsh - it was a bit cheeky but i've read 100 times worse things said on the forum. Obviously the new forum set up discourages a bit of banter AND FREE SPEECH!!!!

Can all this name calling stop. What it has on a club does it matter. I myself hate flashy clubs plainer the better for me. Oh and just as an aside. I remember a car number plate for sale in the 1960's. When they sold them in the newspapers(do they still do that). It was DAV 1 D. They wanted £100,000 for it back then. So that ruled me out. But if I had been loaded I would have bought it. Yes I am that sad.

Could not agree more. Just been writing to Michael Harris about that very thing..Maybe we need one of these Polls.

From Wee…“””Actually, justagolfer, i think you're very rude. I think you bait others into a reaction, and then call foul play.

I hope your first tee shot at the weekend flies out of bounds. Other than that, I have nothing else of interest to note.””” He’s a nice chap really, poor soul.

Going right back to the original post did it actually say there was a club called a "Special Release" ?

Now I like firing one down the middle as much as the next person but that might be going a little far....

@justagolfer, if you click 'reply with quote' bottom right of each persons post it will quote their post for you to directly reply to. when you just copy and paste it looks like you are saying these words unless someone has read every single post to know otherwise

It's all marketing. These companies know what they need to say to get you to part with your money. I've yet to see a ball described as "moderate distance" lol has to be "super high" or "super long" or "explosive distance" or "exceptional feel". Most of marketing is about exageratting a product's characteristics within the boundaries of law and ignoring any deficiencies, basically to get you to think that you need their product, even when you don't.

Agreed.

Anyone believing the marketing hype deserves to have a bagful of them :)

BMW call there cars 325 and so on. Citroen call their cars things like Picasso and the like.

BMW = Quality, Citroen = Not so much.

Mizuno and Titleist call there clubs MP, JPX - AP2 910H/F/D - Taylor Made call their clubs, Burner 2.zero and the like and paint them in bright colours.

Is this a pattern I see forming?!!!

As I'm a fully paid up member of the TM brigade I feel it my duty to stick up for the brand :D

R7, R9, R11, CB, MB, MC...... No different to AP2 or MP (Insert Number) so not really valid point IMO.

Also

Mizuno MP630 Fast track

Mizuno MX700 Hot Metal

................................. I'm just sayin' :D

Not a Taylormade fan boy here but in their defense I don't think you could really say they don't do quality. I'd also probably prefer a FWD Citroen over a RWD BMW this winter when you look at the forecast!

With golf it's down to the driver more the than the car. Just look at the four major winners this year. 4 different manufacturers all with different pedigrees and a range of marketing styles.

This is some of what I get in return…

“so I get,, from HomerJsimpson. ((thought you'd posted adieu on the OOB forum and yet here you are back again and picking faults with other people posting. Whether he makes a point or not his post is a credible as anyones. ))) Wow...…Certainly the pseudonym seems to match the person…… To which my reply is.... I think you have some sort of problem.. The question “ I “ posted asked for peoples point of view. It’s a forum remember…

And this taken from you I'll Miss you all thread

"I'll miss you all. Unfortunately the guy with the off button won't let me have an opinion... "" I'm boring and repetitive..so I have to go. I have written to the editor of Golf Monthly. So I might just be back some day...till then, Love and kisses to you all.

Old Gilby fart "

My question still stands. Why do you feel you have to take everyone to task individually as you've done frequently and surpassed yourself on this one when they present an argument that differs from yours, dares to take the thread on a different tangent (heaven forbid we stray from what YOU want to talk about) and basically try to find fresh ways of rubbing people up the wrong way.

It is a forum as you correctly point out. That does sadly mean people will not agree with you but it is part of being a member that you either present a reasoned argument against that or move on. No-one else resorts to breaking each post down forum member by forum member and basically ridiculing and name calling it. I'm sure the editor can hardly wait to get your next e-mail as I'm sure it will be one in a long line.

What I'm trying to say on behalf of some of the forum who've PM'd me at least is please for the general harmony, try and back off, be personable not offensive and withold from undermining individuals. It would go a long way towards people interacting more and maybe even answering the questions you pose. At the end of the day there is the block button and sadly I'm confident you won't take what is meant as friendly advice on board but at least I won't have to read your barbs
