Watching the Chevron World Challenge and i'm surprised at Rorys poor showing around the greens. His long game is amazing but he's making Westwood look good with his chipping.

What does everyone think?

Is this just a temporary thing or is it a sign of how his career will go?

To many days away from his burd haha,my young lad says he finished and should give up.He seems to be very quick at playing the short shots think it was 16 yesterday great 2nd shot t the back of the green then he bladed his pitch and then 3 putted.

i agree, he doesn't look settled on the short shots. Not just the chipping and putting but he also made a mess of a 60 yard pitch yesterday. Great with full shots but poor with everything else in comparison.

Great golfer and i hope he gets his game back on track

He's young and just rushes it at times.

Its the short stick that's going to be his nemesis I fear!

Can't it be a case of some greens just don't suit the eye? He just doesn't look comfortable, perhaps the talk of them being so fast has knocked him off his rhythm/tempo.

Tiger looked awesome, the shot to the 18th was top drawer.

Did see that chip from behind 16 yesterday when most pro's would be looking at a chip in for eagle he conjured up a 6...isn't going to win a major with his present short game but plenty time to improve.

Could see Mark Roe's eyes light up....my next pupil??

Think he would be better with a bump and run round the greens that trying to fly it all the way. Think it's just a short term issue with the wedges though a t I agree the putter will be his nemesis for years to come!!

Us mere mortals are not fit to comment on what is wrong with his game. How I wish I could come close. :(

Could you sense the sales of V-Easy jumping up when Casey 4-putted :D

Could this be the main reason he is moving back to Europe?

BUT the main reason for his poor chipping and putting is that he doesn't use Ping wedges and putter, everyone knows it's the old guys at the club who chip and put like god and we all know what clubs they use :D :D.

AS stated by many I think Rory needs to settle and not look at the clubhouse. I wonder is he suffering the closing blues were he possibly puts too much pressure on himself to produce a great closing shot (ie Westwood today) and like many of us here I am sure makes a hash of it.
I think he does have to slow down a little around the greens, I think he is a very instinctive type player but needs to take that extra little bit of time to weigh up other options.
I like Mark Rowes comments on Tiger "he uses a lot of lcubs around the green" unlike Phils big flops. Rory needs to develop this and calm down.

He's probably just found out what his right hand's for......a pint pot.
He'll soon sort it out. However, as I said in an earlier post, Manassero is now the new kid on the block. You heard it here first.
