What's happened to this Country?

Oh yes, sod justice and we can build a new swimming pool.

Money over peoples lives, who still cant accept what was done to their loved ones. You've a heart haven't you?

Maybe if the truth would have come out earlier and the governments of the last 20 years hadn't watched it covered up under their noses, it would have saved a lot more.

If it was your son/daughter who had died in the same circumstances, would you have readily accepted it? Probably.
Mate don't get into this , please , this should not have been brought up in this convo , Nobody outside can have any idea of this or the enormity of it or the pain and hurt ye went through , getting into a conversation about this with people who (luckily for them)truly don't or cant understand wont achieve anything ..

Do you want to go back to the days of ...

Alf Garnett
The Secret Policemans Ball scripts
Razor Gangs/Teddy Boys/Rockers/Mods/Skinheads
T Dan Smith/Jeffery Archer/Bunny Thorpe
'Everybody Out Unions'

Nothing has changed,
Politicians/Police/Judges have always had 'bad apples'.

Same script more media attention.

I don't know what's the worst Bill, people who are trying to use the death of 96 people as a wind up, or they actually believe that 96 families trying to seek justice for their loved ones is the worst thing to be happening in this country at the moment.

Either way, it shows that the pub bore is still alive and kicking.

The country has gone to the dogs and it will not get better. So much wrong. Immigration, unemployment, welfare state, benefit cheats, economic meltdown, etc etc. Love her or loathe her at least Thatcher was a strong leader and not worried about pandering to the masses or jumping on the latest touchy feely bandwagon

Or you could say that we have gone far too far down the route mapped out by Thatcher. To the degree that our country has lost it's heart, soul and conscience. A lot of us are pretty cruel in our mindset and lack understanding towards the plight of others less fortunate than ourselves and the smokescreen we hide behind is immigration and undeserving benefits scroungers.

After almost thirty years, I'd have moved on. Yes it's not nice family members died, but YOLO and standing about shouting how unfair life is and how it's apparently the polices fault thousands bum-rushed the pitched and crushed other humans is now getting a bit long in th tooth. I'm sure if the shoe was on the other foot they'd have done the same thing, self preservation. But maybe I'm being cynical and they are all up standing pillars of the community.

I've a heart, somewhere, I'm more of a MTFU and crack on type of person.

If it really was you're own child/family member, then I highly doubt you would had moved on.

And did you really just quote ''YOLO''???

I'am absolutly speechless.

In light of the above post Swingsitlikehogan i'd say your post as to be the most perceptive i've read in a long time.

I'm not often lost for words but this is one if those moments. If I ever lost a child it would never be a case of MTFU because a parent should never have to outlive a child and their death should it be in such tragic circumstance should never be covered up and deserves a DAMN site more respect for their life than your post offers or lack thereof.

This post is a good example of what's happened to the country. And society in general, sadly.

Well...:(

I think as a people - that's us - the people of this country - need to stop, stand back and have a really good look at ourselves; and ask ourselves what it is that is really important in our lives and what we need to make our lives better. Then ask ourselves honestly what part we play in the way things are today - and whether we are doing our best to help ourselves help ourselves and otehrs - and to help others to help us.

I'm absolutely stunned by some of the absolute crap i read on this forum, and i'm not even going to comment on THAT post about the Hillsborough tradgedy.
I love the irony of all the finger pointing about Garcia's comments, yet there are racist and bigotted comments posted here on an almost daily basis that are dressed up as Nationalism.
Lets condone the tax evasion/avoidance of big companies who are making big profits and paying big bonus's to there directors, and blame all the countries problems on immigration and the benefits system.

Thankfully we have the likes of blackpuddinmonster and Swingsitlikehogan to bring a bit of balance to some of these threads.

The Woolwich killing today is another prime example of what has happend to our country, I suppose it goes hand in hand with the vid I posted on the first page.

I can't vent my real opinions as I would be banned within an instance 😡

I lived in the London suburbs when the IRA were in full swagger.
It was a much more scary place than it is today.
There will always be 'issues'.
In the words of Harold MacMillan I don't think we have had it so good.

Folk are not dying of hunger or disease, very few folk are homeless.
I think a touch of reality is called for.

I totally agree. If you have concerns over the growing population in the UK then you are labeled a Racist. If you try to explain your concerns for the overloaded health service, schools, job market, benefit system costs then some bright spark pulls the 'Bigot and Racist' card rather than trying to explain the case for an increased population.

As you; I cannot explain my real concerns without incurring a ban for speaking my mind. I guess we just have to bite our lips and pull the 'I told you so' card in ten years when todays children inherit the results of the current generations actions.
