After watching Panorama and the awful covering up of the truth of Hillsborough, I have to wonder what sort of Country we are becoming?

We have bankers earning millions whilst wrecking the economy

We have MP's stealing money from false expense claims

Everyday, it seems that we have Mis selling scams exposed

The police are willing to cover up their total culpability over Hillsborough

What ever happened to the moral fibre of people we should trust?

And Newcastle Brown Ale isn't made in Newcastle anymore, this country is going down the pan

Just watched that program 'Skint' Not a lot of moral fiber with those people either. Six children with five different men and claiming £1,600 a month benefits.

Power corrupts, weather that power be political, financial or physical it makes no odds. Its the human condition i'am afraid.
I believe this sort of a crap as always gone on, its just harder to get away with it these days.
Will this make a difference?
Unfortunatly i doubt it, this sort of person/organisation tends to believe they're untouchable, or just too clever to get caught.

This 😡 me off more...

Mods this was on TV so don't worry and remove it!!!

If I ever met that women I would shake her hand & buy her a drink. Why we let people like that live in our country is beyond me. I'm not racist & I'm not saying all Muslims are like that, but if some one started chanting anti Muslim things outside a mosque they would be arrested pretty quick!

Unfortunately, they were probably born here.:(

Never saw the programme but sounds like my old next door neighbour where I used to live. Had 4 kids by 4 fellas, always had the latest top gear, new motors, Sky TV top package always new furniture or something being delivered and happy admitted pays virtually not a penny In rent or bills and never worked a day in her life

Strange how a thread dispairing at the moral and financial corruption prevalent in the higher echolons of society has digressed into slagging off people on benifits in less than a dozen posts.

Maybe if we spent a but less public money on investigating a tragic event which happened years ago and will not bring anyone back and digs up all the old nasty horrible feelings we'd be able to put tha money into the public domain.

But, of course, justice would never prevail, the truth would never come out and theses responsible would get away scot free with things! Hardly right is it?

I doubt all the people that lost relatives & friends needed an investigation to bring back bad feelings. People have spent years trying to get justice & now the truth as come out maybe they can get on with their lives a bit better.
Public money gets wasted on a lot of things, this certainly wasn't one of them.

I agree with the waste of public money. Yes mistakes were made, yes it's a disgrace that those invlolved tried to cover it up and blame other people. But it really should be allowed to rest now. 16 million to send a snotty eton club major into space. Was a waste of public money. Plus there was summat else we were wasting money on but I've forgot what it was.

Oh yes, sod justice and we can build a new swimming pool.

Money over peoples lives, who still cant accept what was done to their loved ones. You've a heart haven't you?

Maybe if the truth would have come out earlier and the governments of the last 20 years hadn't watched it covered up under their noses, it would have saved a lot more.

If it was your son/daughter who had died in the same circumstances, would you have readily accepted it? Probably.

It's a very good point you make Chris.

My wife had a bit of a set to with a family that live at the bottom of our street. Non of them work, have 3 children (... I think) and claim for everything under the son.

When my good lady told them a few home truths (.... Which they didn't like) and tried to argue about saying "Well you stay at home all day" to which HID retorted with:

"My husband leaves the hourse for work just before 7am in the morning, and doesn't get in until after 6pm most nights. He works to support his family. He works so I can raise our son and not leave him with carers. The only benefit we get is child benefit (Which everyone with a child gets) and Child tax credit (See previous), we've never asked for another penny!"

"When our son is old enough for school, I fully intend on going back to work, at a minimum of part time, you've never worked a day in your lives and have no intention to!"

They couldn't really argue with this as, well, it true. As the footabll song goes "It's all gone quiet over there"

I don't blame the people for doing it. I blame the government for a) Making it so easy for them to do it and b) Allowing them to get away with it constantly.
