my golf has been going great. been playing 7 months, shot under 100 for the first time last week with a 95 and range session's couldn't be better.
HOWEVER, i went the range today and i couldn't hit a ball. to the level that it looked like i'd never swung a club before. i tried stripping it back to the basics but no luck.

is this common? it's soul destroyinmg!

welcome to the club :D :D :D ;)

Perfectly normal mate, it happens to us all

Yep, thats golf. I put my club down, walk away, smoke a fag and come back and look to do just one thing... Look at the ball. Then and only then if its better I will work on my program. When it happens done hit more balls, hit less, slow down and RELAX!!

Congratulations on the 95, I have only been playing on full size courses for two months, and got my first par hole on Saturday, and was chuffed to bits, it will come back to you I am sure.

Yes, it's horribly normal. If you are able to shoot 95 after such a short time then you are doing well. I used to find that if I was hacking the ball on the range I would just stop and instead practice my putting and chipping for a while and then go back to the longer shots. Just like other sports some days you will be really on form and others you won't.

Tend to find I have a great range session and then rock up at the course next morning and can't play at all. Better to have a bad range session than a mare on the course

Truth.

Hoping this will be the case with me. Had an absolute nightmare at the range last night. Broke my V-Easy in half, and couldn't get any kind of consistency going with any of my clubs. Doesn't help that I'm trying to bed in my "new" swing either.
