So as some of you who read my post last night will know that I'm struggling with my game at the moment and have been for the last few weeks.

After my round poor round on saturday I rang the course where the pro is based just so I could have a chat and go over a few things from my last lesson. I was told he was in teaching and that a message would be left and he'd call me back. No problem I thought.

By yesterday I still hadn't heard anything and I posted on here, someone mentioned that he might not have received the message and that I should try again which I did. This time I was told that he had left for the night and he would be re-told that I needed to speak to him and he would call me the next day. Ok I thought.

Got to around lunch time today and I still hadn't heard anything so I tried again and left a third message. No call back as yet and I'm not holding my breath for one. He must've got at least one of the messages I've left. I don't want to keep pestering the bloke and to be honest he isn't really giving a very good service, he must not want me to book anymore lessons

What would you do if this was you?

Dont use him again and get to the range and get your game back on track. No point in getting all down over it, get out there and fight!!!

He's running a business, part of that business is talking to customers. If he isn't ringing you back, then take your business elsewhere. There's plenty of good Pro's around, and sometimes a change is as good as a rest...

Plenty more people out there who would be willing to teach you. I hate it when someone says they will get back to you but never do.

Find someone else. If he can't spare five minutes to return your calls why should you bother parting with any more money?
Really pisses me off when people you pay to give a service can't be arsed to extend some courtesy like a phone call. Had a guitar teacher like that last year, so got rid and taught myself via various online resources.

If you can't go and see him personally then take your business elsewhere. Customer service should be right up there in his list of priorities - all part of the job, and you've given him plenty of chances.

I could go and see him but he's obviously got one of my messages but doesn't want to take 5 mins to speak to one of his customers.

Look elsewhere for a pro. What does it take to return a quick call and give some advice. Either that or hes ignoring you because you get on his nerves lol

Although in this case I'm not sure the Op actually mentions that the Pro said he would call him back. It reads as if other staff have made a commitment on the Pro's behalf (always dangerous) and its too easy to take that as a commitment from the Pro himself

I'll wager a castle tee that the Pro hasn't even got the message/s (at least not the first one) & if 2nd or 3rd was received then we're only talking about a day elapsing where a call hasn't been returned, yet (& no sign of the Pro's diary to refer to to see what other commitments were already in place, god forbid he was out teaching kids at a local centre yesterday)

So we could slate the guy picturing him sitting in the Pro shop, coffee in hand with a post it note in front of him saying call the OP & choosing to ignore it.....or

Maybe the folks who took the calls are the ejits, didnt check his diary or didn't pass messages correctly or in a timely manner & the Pro will have a fit when he finds out!

Which is the more likely scenario?

As I actually know which golf complex / Pro about which the OP speaks, Id say the one where the Pro cant be ARSED........!!

Slab ..... I have to say though, that the folk who took the calls could well be 'ejits' , that bit I cant prove or disprove

But it would take nothing for the Pro to check in at end of every day to see if any messages, or if Diary has been updated, or better still, for one of the Young Uns to walk 50yds down to the teaching bay from reception and pass a message on.......

Could be, you're better placed to comment than most (which is why I couldn't understand the one-sided responses)

End of the day I couldn't concur with them because there are just too many things we don't know from the available info
Strikes me I'd need to consider that if the Pro was working the weekend (at least some of it & likely all of it) that he may well have been off Mon/Tues anyway & the Op's message could even be 15th in line after a busy weeeknd

Best we know the Op asked for a chat & that he wanted to go over a few things from last lesson (must be a Pro's worst nightmare to try and comment over the phone to confirm a pupils understanding of a swing scenario when he can't actually see the pupil) worse still if he ends up being asked Q's to give an additional supplementary lesson (& pay for the call into the bargain)

In short, sure it would be nice if every call we make was at least acknowledged but loads of reasons it wasn't & what can really be acheived/expected over a phone call, as was mentioned popping in to see him would be best (perhaps another lesson being booked)
