For an online piece can we hear your favourite bits from the past 12 months - can be anything so doesn't have to be a winner and can be either the sublime or the ridiculous

I have a bizarre one of the Saturday of the Scottish Open just for the proper old-school crap weather and players still managing to get it done (and the dream that Robert Rock
might still pull it off). And Jon Rahm's putt to win the BMW was nuts

Reducing my handicap from 5.5 to 4.1. Mostly thanks to WHS :ROFLMAO:

Not thinking i was going to get away in the Summer bu ended up having a great weekend playing North Berwick and Dunbar.

Watching DJ dismantle Augusta and the rest of the field at the Masters.

What disappointed me was the R and A not managing to get the Open played. Appreciate that it would have been difficult logistically, but, if the European Tour and PGA tour can get things going again, why couldn't the R and A host the open ?

Why indeed. Probably cos the Americans would not have travelled.

There was a hissy fit in case an unpopular bloke won the order of merit, and then, the aging Mr Westwood does the bizz, Marvellous.

Rest of the year seems to pale into the background without crowds... even the Masters didnt feel anything like a Major

Bob MacIntyre winning his first tour event. Oban's a pretty small town in a relatively remote part of Scotland and kids from similar places around the country can take great inspiration that someone from there can be world class. We're 90 miles from Oban and Bob is an honorary member of our club so I hope our juniors think that if he can do it, so can they.

That was maybe the most popular win of the year, everyone seems to love it when he's involved. Great bloke - what club are you at?

All the commentators seem to say very complimentary things about him, which is a great sign.
Machrihanish.

Westwood winning the R2D is prob up there

DJ winning the Masters in such style was great as well along with how humble he was

It’s a strange year because of Covid and disappointing thag we didn’t get The Open which is always the highlight as well as the Ryder Cup

I can’t even remember who won the USPGA or US open - guess that shows how memorable they were

Does Bryson ring a bell? Think Jeff Sluman won the PGA

Collin Morikawa's tee shot onto the green/ eagle down the stretch at the PGA Championships. Just sticks out in my mind for some reason.

I'd love to say a European player or European moment but DJ was imperious at Augusta and that is what sticks in my mind.

Watching De Chambeau hit a 10 on one hole (at Memorial but I had to Google that). I watched it as it happened and it was bad decision after bad shot, repeat. It was like watching a weekend player making shot decisions.

First play off hole of the Workday Charity Open at Muirfield Village when Justin Thomas holes a 50 footer meaning Morikawa has to hole his 24 footer to extend the play off and does it!

Pure sporting drama!!

Also a great reminder to us all when we playing a match that the hole is never won til it’s won and always expect your opponent to hole his putt!!

I think Workday Charity Open (had to check name) playoff was first moment without fans being there where the excitement was there. Justin Thomas holing a 50ft plus putt on the first playoff hole and then Colin Morikawa holing a 25ft putt in response to keep match going. That had the first sort of challenge and response post Covid match play style and if I recall it looked like JT had won it on the 2nd play off hole until CM finally took it on the next.

DJ's run of form and Augusta win is right up there.

Good choice. I was just about to type the same. I also thought Tiger's five birdies in six holes after getting a 10 on the 12th at Augusta was also pretty impressive.

It has to be The Masters for me - no single moment, just all of it. For all the complaints about the coverage, especially the first round, it was so refreshing to see views of the course from previously unseen angles, and without galleries fifteen or twenty people deep. I thought the course looked fabulous, and it was just such a relief to be able to watch it after such an awful year.

Rather than a highlight there was one big lowlight for me, the passing of the voice of golf. Grew up listening to Peter Alliss and Dave Marr, two wonderful commentators.

The number of youngsters doing well on the European Tour - hopefully some will make it big
