what was your favourite indoor toy/game as a child?

I could never get on with Airfix kits. The picture on the box looked wonderful. I'd have a go and the result looked like Stevie Wonder had gone mental with some Bostik!!

I could never be arsed to paint them either so my bedroom resembled some form of a Boeing quality seconds hanger.

Hornby 3 rail train set. Still have it!
Stilts ( don't ask )
Rubberbricks ( or something sounding like it ) the forerunner to Leggo
Meccano. Used it for donkey's years for the odd bodging job.
Model gliders
home made bows and arrows + catapaults
Etc. etc.

Indoctrinated from an early age - my dad was in the navy - Fleet Air Arm engineer - he'd worked on the originals of most of my early kits.

another one here for subbuteo and scalextric.

my subbuteo pitch was on a large board, and i used to hold touraments weekly with the other kids.

my scalextric was large enough to circuit the through lounge and extended kitchen, didn't have a power booster so at it's furthest point the cars used to slow right down lol

also used to play darts a lot

I had a large, grey moneybox that was my pride and joy, and I used to put all my spare shilling and two shilling pieces in it.
It took me 8 years to realise it was the gas meter

It is seldom that I look at this screen and laugh out loud, disturbing, as I did, every other person in the office!!
This then required the explanation for such a reaction .. so you have cost me at least one hours lost production - but it was worth every second!!
