Ive tried looking at various internet sites that show Sky Sports coverage of the European and PGA tours, and they are all rubbish, so Im looking into getting SKY.

At the moment im with TalkTalk for broadband and phones which is £26 per month inc line rental, calls and broadband.

Looking at the sky website it looks like a basic package including sports , Broadband and calls is going to cost about £70 per month, nearly £50 a month more.

Question.... Is Sky worth £50 per month?

Are any of you paying less and still getting the golf coverage?

I can't really say whether sky is worth it or not. I love watching the golf on TV so I watch a lot of sky sports and also when the footy is on and the cricket so I suppose I get plenty of viewing time.

If you don't like sports and movies I wouldn't say it's worth it.

Depends how much your willing to pay to watch the sports??

If your like me then you just pay it and enjoy :) :)

This is the right answer.

we pay 72.50 a month, have hd and multi room plas all the channels, tbh, it is probs not worth it, but we have 3 small kids and dont get chance to go out partying anymore so we can usually chill with something, plus the kids can watch whatever they like in the kitchen and i can get peace for the golf! :)

we have the full package, rang up the other day to cancel and they have offered my 6 months half price again :)
I do this every 6 months and it works out quite good value :)

I'm with virgin and get the whole sky pkg plus hd movies and sport, Internet, phone plus the extra box upstairs which is hd. £76 a month. Be careful with sky Internet as it's through the phone line and speed can be a lot lower than you pay for. I had cancelled sport and movies a while back but could not live without it started climbing the walls!! Put the sport back on and it's only an extra £6 for the movies the gits.

I started on the 3 for £30 deal and added SKY Sports. My bill went to £50. I then switched my line rental over from BT so my bill went up to >£60. I was happy to pay that.

Then, I realised that I simply wasn't watching the Sports channels enough to warrent the £20 a month. If I was lucky, I'd watch a half of a game of football, a bit of golf and I had no chance to watch the cricket. Sometimes I'd watch the PGA tour on a Sunday night but I found myself watching the minor events just so that I could justify having the Sports channels so I got rid of them.

But, it's one of those things, SKY's coverage is excellent so is it value for money - yes, probably and if you're going to watch loads of sports then get involved.

You'd only spend the money somewhere else - like on golf gear. :p

I have the full package mate (HD), with broadband and paying sky the line rental, we pay £72, this turned out 30 cheaper than BT.

It's a lot of money , but I don't think we could do without it now mate.

Midnight...

Anyone just use the Sky Player? Is it any good?

I can get that as a stand alone with just sports for £33 per month

Cheers

Sky customers get it free so I use it quite a lot. Works really well. Picture quality is as good as standard def I would say.
