With all the snow we have had lately has obviously meant no golf for the last couple of weeks, which has left me with a bit of time on my hands. Now rather than using this time wisely doing DIY, spending time with the Mrs & Kids etc, ive instead been looking at shiny new clubs on the Internet :D .

The problem is now that ive been looking so much, and reading on here about people going for fittings for new bats etc, that I have convinced myself that I now need/want some new irons.

At present im playing with Mizuno MP60's 3-PW, these are 4 year old this month but have served me very well over the last few years. They are still in good nick, sweet spots hardly touched and just the normal scratches, but no serious marks on them etc, so would still be good for another couple of years. The problem is though the new MP63's look soooooooooo good , and I want some.....NOW :D

Im still a little undecided if I should stick with my MP60's for a while longer, or trade them in for some new shiny bats, probably the MP63's, but maybe something else. So what I want from you lot is for you to give me your opinion on what I should do..... or in other words, just convince me to get the new ones :D

PS - does anyone want to buy some MP60's? :D

I'm probably the last person to comment on the lure of shiny stuff but the MP63 are quality clubs. Unfortunately I was only able to justify them from wedge down to 6 iron and really struggled to hit the 4 and 5 irons. However they have a gorgeous feel (probably not what you wanted to hear) but you do need to be finding the middle as they aren't as forgiving as some.

I guess the only deadsure way to find out is to go hit them for yourself and see. After that it's all about how tight you can keep your wallet shut

Homer ive not seen them in the flesh yet, but from the pics ive seen I think they are the best looking iron ever. Think I will go and try some after Xmas and see how they feel, although knowing me, I wont be able to wait and will have tried them before the end of the week!

The wallet will be staying at home though when I do try em, just in case
:D

This is always the problem with looking, eventually you find something.

If you can resist, stick with what you have and know. It will pay off in the long term.

Resist the lure of the shiny stuff. It is evil.

Johnboy, Its just boredom stick with what you have,I take it your playing well with them...

Thats not what your supposed to tell me! ;)

I am playing quite well with them, im only really considering replacing them as the lure of new clubs keeps whispering in my ear! But the MP63's do look nice though! (God get a grip of yourself John, your starting to sound like Aztec :p )

Is there much (if any) difference between your MP60s and the newer 63s??

Stick with the 60s and take them for a sunshine holiday break with the money you saved. Rekindle the love, like a dirty little weekend away!! :D

what will you benifit from buy spending a shed load on new sticks? if you cant see any benifit then is it worth the cash when that could go towards 2011 membership:

Im currently in the same position as you, All you constantly read on here is " custom fit custom fit custom fit " and after my pro said i could maybe do with the slightly stiffer shaft im almost convincing my self i need custom fit, but do i really?

This summer i showed some real hint of actually being able to play golf, and had a few rounds that were around the 8/9/10/11 over mark. so do my bats really need changing, or am i just looking for excuses, afterall its gonna be the same dick on the end of the stick

Well i sadly gave in to temptation at the weekend. Went and got myself some new TM R9 TP Irons and a new xft wedge. They are still in the box and now I need to sell my old irons.

Go for it !!!!!!

Better to regret the things you have done rather than regret the things you wish you had done

Put the money towards some memorable days out on top tracks. Much more fun than new stuff. Memories live forever, shiny stuff only lasts til something new comes along.

Rekindle the love, like a dirty little weekend away!! :D

Now I like the idea of that - although instead of taking my MP60's with me, would it be acceptable if I asked the fit young lass with big boobs from work? ;)
