Arms and hands or shoulder turn?

I think it should be shoulder turn (maybe) but seem to have better results with an armsy swing.

What are your thoughts?

Dunno about everyone else but these are two totally different shots. Chip shot I will play with more of a putting stroke, so shoulders. Pitch is more arms and wrists for me.
Probably more ways to skin a cat but that's what works for me.

Pitch shots - 40yds and more from pin are just mini version of the normal swing (or Pelz Finesse ones).

Chip shot technique really depend on the lie. If from the fairway, a putt technique can be used, from deep-ish rough some hand snap can help and everything in between!

I try to avoid using hands and elbows as much as possible though.

It's really a case of finding what works best - for you. I don't believe there is a single 'best' technique.

Arms for me, the hips are more passive so you can't use a body rotation (pivot) to 'pull' the club. So if anything it's CHEST and arms. On a pitch shot I expect my chest/arms to outrace my hips, same with a chip... same with a putt (hips don't move).
