As some will know, we had our golf day earlier in the week. We played the Willow Valley course in Brighouse, West Yorkshire.
Those that know it will be aware that it is a quality USPGA designed course and hosts the Yorkshire PGA Championship.
As is the norm, we all turned up in smart golf attire (polos, sweaters, trousers and golf shoes)
As our round progressed I, along with others were very surprised to find some other people playing the course in various states of dress. One guy (I swear he was wearing trainers) was playing in camo cargo shorts. His partner was sporting similar shorts.
Don't get me wrong. I am in no way a golf snob. I'm not the type to request someone tucks their shirt in!
I do however, feel that a course, such as the one we played deserved the proper attire as etiquette dictates.
I blame the guys in the pro shop who take the money. Obviously, the folding stuff means more than proper golf attire.
Any thoughts?
