Just wondering what everyones putting setup and stoke is? Does anyone have any weird or wonderful approaches?

I was having a terrible day yesterday due to a tequilla hangover, so tried to spend 2-3 seconds setting up, just set putter leaned right over then fired and got really good results. Not sure how to implement this into my normal routine.

I have the ball set up just inside my left foot ... then adjust the position of my right foot based on how far I need to swing the putter to get the ball to the hole. I then move the putter back as far as my right foot and let it swing back through to hit the ball. Really good way to get distance control spot on. Obviously it doesn't work for the massively long 50+ foot putts as you'd look pretty daft setting up with your legs spread out as far as you can but for the short to mid-range putts I've found it a great help.

Do you mean you increase your stance or you turn your foot back ala Bobby Locke? I find when setting up of left foot i cant roll as good.

Interesting idea mefromhere. Do you find you glance at your back foot during the stroke to ensure the correct length of stroke taking you eye off the ball? Does this ever effect the strike? Just wondered as looking at a single dimple at the back of the ball is something I am working on at the moment and keeping my head down, sometimes just listening if the ball goes in.

I have also just changed from a double interlocking grip to a more traditional left over right with the index finger of my top hand running down the knuckles of my bottom hand. This setup seems to get my wrists and forearms in better alignment and I am hoping will lead to less pushes, pulls, and double crosses.

The problem is that my old grip feels very comfortable in my hands the grip of the club just seems to fit perfectly into my hands with a double interlock and feels so solid and secure. I do quite like my new grip too and am determined to stick with it as I really believe in the long term it will make me more consistent. At the moment I am very streaky, so when I am hot I can hole from anywhere but when my timing is off it feel like someone else is putting for me.

Other than that I am also introducing a small forward press into the stroke which is helping my tempo and timing and giving me a much sweeter strike (love that 'click' sound) and I usually have the ball 2 inches forward of center which puts my dominant left eye directly in line with the back of the ball.

I used some tennis grip tape for a softer feel and so my fingers fit better. Works well. I find a forward press makes me hit it left.

I instill fear in the ball by telling it it will go back in the ball pocket if it doesn't behave - I regularly have to change my ball...

I'm generally pretty good at picking a line these days (and ignore Pieman and JustOne if either of them comment!) but at times if I 'm not sure, I will line the marking on the ball along the line I think, then leave the marker behind it, and make a putting stroke with the putter above the ball watching the line of the putter head on the follow through (it has a line guide on it), and this helps view the continued line the ball will take.

Leaving the marker there just means if I have to move the ball, I'm saving time.

Not sure I've explained that well, but hopefully you get the idea.

I putt with my left hand below my right, have done as long as i can remember. Ball is between centre and my left foot, pick a target and hit the ball towards it, then pick the ball out of the hole :)

Increasing the width of my stance up to maybe shoulder width, which then gives me enough distance to reach 40-50 foot putts. The ball is then maybe a ball or 2 inside my left foot. Any close to centre and I find it skids on contact.

I try not to look at my back foot when putting but on practice strokes I will alternate between looking at the ball and my foot to get comfortable with the distance of stroke and then find I don't need to look at it on the actual stroke.
